Life & Work with Donna Rawlins of Canton, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Rawlins.

Hi Donna , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My daughter and I was living together I. A two bedroom duplex and I was sellers g a multi level marketing product and we were bouncing indies off of each other on starting on own actual business. So with 500.00 we purchased some leather bags and wallets. We went live on Facebook and sold out the same night. After repeating this a few times we purchased enough products and set up at local flea market. 3 months later we added kids clothing and another 6 months we added men’s clothing. About 1 year later we were in a first shop when COVID hit. In 2021 we gave it one more go and open a store I. A small shopping g center. We grew quickly and double the space the following year. Now in 2025 we expanded into a freestanding building and double our size yet again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a very rough road with lots of bumps. We closed first location related to Covid, regrouped and started again. Struggle is changing inventory even when things are not selling. Learning to think outside the box. The dedication it takes to make it

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are a family owned business. We can relate to the struggles facing everyone today and have the ability to help make western fashion affordable. We specialize in Native turquoise jewelry and work direct with artists. Even though we are located in a small town we strive to stay up to date with the latest and greatest. Most small store are dedicated to only women but we strive to keep stock for the whole family

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
This was a fleeting idea that has turned into an established business with lots of hard work and dedication. Our customers are more like family and every purchase helps.
