Today we’d like to introduce you to Eshin
Hi Eshin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I found my first love of music through my older brother who would show me his favorite songs and blast the radio everytime I was with him. My love of music continued as I joined the band in middle school and excelled. I played the euphonium. In highschool I left the band program and felt lonely in a way without music in my life. So I started to make my own. I first started on wired earbuds that had a microphone and my first attempt at mixing was on imovie. I just balanced the beat and my vocal audio and called it a day. As I kept recording more music my love of music entered my life again. It felt so crazy. I eventually purchased my first mic, AT2020 USB, and learned garageband off of youtube and with the help of another artist friend, Punch-In. In January 2021 I released my first album, “Days Before the Fame”. This brought me some inital traction and was the first big project I released under “Eshin”. Later on I got connected with a producer, NeoHugh, and we released an entire tape, produced by him and vocals by me, called “Nyc to the D”. During this time I upgraded my equipment as well and also upgraded from garageband to Logic Pro. It helped me engineer my music way better and brought more attention to my music. In summer 2022 I released a tape called “Rage ‘n B”. Every other song was RNB and the others were Rage. It turned out to be a great concept and many people gave me props for the creativity. At this time I was still doing everything by myself. The marketing, the recording, the engineering, etc. My beats would mostly come off of youtube and beatstars. In 2023, I finally formed a small team. We call ourseleves FutureSonic, it means everything we do is for the future, we are the new. The team had engineers Rayane Kabous and Daniel Gonzales, my boy Arvin who would help get me connections and features, and my boy Aliaan who was able to provide help with all the creative aspects like cover art, music videos, etc. We connected in March 2023 and by August we had a tape ready. It is called “Starlit”. This was the first tape that actually gave me some motion. I had local Dallas pages posting me, I was also doing shows around Dallas, and started to really get my name and music in people’s ears. This momentum carried on for the next year and we got opputinities to record at bigger studios like Luminous Sound through my engineer Daniel Gonzales, and in May 2024 we released my latest project, “Life or Death”. Fully made and produced by the team. Shout out to Bradley Geiger too he gave a lot of beats for the project. After the release and promotion of that project, I got in touch with Johno who’s an A&R from Houston and started working closely with him around August 2024. He is the one who brought Don Toliver to Travis Scott and has worked with many other artists in Houston and around the world. Over the last 6-7 months almost he’s helped me work on everything. We basically stripped down everything I was doing and corrected everything; from lyrics, to markerting, to song structure, to beat selection, everything, He’s great. He connected me with another producer, Damon Dahl who has been working very closely with me over the past 6-7 months too. I got my boy Joey who helps me write too. He’s amazing with it. Currently I’m just working on music in silence, I want to get everything perfect before I come out and release again. Full 100% on everything,
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Making music ain’t always been smooth for me. At first, even recording was a struggle. I was super shy and only recorded when I had the house to myself ‘cause I didn’t want anybody hearing me. Eventually, I got over that and started recording with confidence, but that was just the first step. I ran into all kinds of obstacles like not knowing how to make the sound I had in my head, not having money for equipment, no one to give me real feedback, and of course, dealing with hate. That’s just part of the come up though, but what makes my work different is that I’m doing all this while studying biomedical engineering at UT Dallas. Balancing school and music ain’t easy, but I find a way to make it work. Some nights I’m up late working on a song with Johno or Damon, knowing I got an exam the next morning. Sometimes I’m in class, zoning out ‘cause a melody popped in my head, and I gotta record it real quick before I forget. It’s a crazy balance, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every obstacle just makes me hungrier, and I know all this work is gonna pay off in the end.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Check me out eveyrhwere, all streamimg platforms, youtube, instagram. Just search Eshin. I’m an artist in all ways, I edit my videos, I work on my album covers, I’m there during the mixing process and control all of it. What really sets me apart is that I don’t stick to one sound. My voice can slide on anything, and I love switching it up. One day it’s a smooth RnB track, the next it’s rap, then out of nowhere, something completely different. My listeners rock with me cause they never know what’s coming next. Every song has its own vibe, its own world, and that’s what keeps people locked in.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is listening to 106.1 and 104.5 with my brother in the car on the way to Braums, and hearing some of the greatest music of our time. I mean back then it’d be TI, Justin Timberlake, Jeezy, Kanye, Lady Gaga, Flo-Rida, etc. all over the radio. That music is what made me love music. To me it’s the prime era of music.
