Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgette Daniels.
Hi Georgette, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Anais + Co. began from a love of creating and a desire to bring a little more calm into everyday life. I originally started making home fragrance products because I enjoyed the creative process and loved how scents could completely transform the feeling of a space. As I shared my products with others, I quickly realized people were looking for more than candles; they wanted simple, meaningful ways to slow down, relax, and take care of themselves. That realization inspired the growth of the business into what it is today. I gradually expanded into body care and wellness products such as shower steamers, magnesium sprays, body creams, body mists, and oils. Each product is thoughtfully created with the intention of helping everyday routines feel more intentional, grounding, and calming.
The name Anais + Co. holds a special place in my heart. Anais is my daughter’s middle name, and means grace and favor: two values that have become the foundation of this brand. Choosing her middle name made the business feel deeply personal and gave it a greater sense of purpose. It’s a daily reminder to lead with intention, extend kindness, and give both yourself and others grace, especially during life’s busy and challenging seasons. At its core, I wanted to create a brand rooted in the belief that self-care is something everyone deserves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small business owners, my journey has been full of trial and error, long nights, and continuous learning. Every market, every online order, and every conversation with a customer has helped shape and refine the direction of the brand. I am always looking for ways to improve; whether that means refining a product, rethinking packaging, or enhancing the overall customer experience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently work as a Commercial Underwriter in the insurance industry, where I specialize in resolving complex situations and finding solutions that create positive outcomes for both the customer and the company. My approach has always been to look for common ground, finding a fair resolution without compromising integrity, company standards, or the customer’s experience.
I’m known for taking the time to truly listen, remaining calm under pressure, and simply getting the job done. Many of the situations I handle have the potential to escalate, but I believe that when you listen first and communicate clearly, you can often prevent problems before they become bigger ones. It’s often said, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” and I see my role as identifying potential issues early and helping resolve them before they turn into larger challenges.
What sets me apart is my patience. I don’t rush conversations or decisions, and I believe people deserve to feel heard, even when the answer isn’t always what they hoped for. That patience allows me to build trust, navigate difficult conversations with empathy, and make thoughtful decisions that balance both business needs and customer care.
I’m especially proud of the reputation I’ve built as someone others can rely on. Whether it’s a customer, a teammate, or a leader, people know they can count on me to approach every situation with professionalism, fairness, and integrity. Those same qualities have also shaped how I lead Anais + Co., where listening, serving others, and creating meaningful experiences remain at the heart of everything I do.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that networking isn’t about collecting business cards or meeting as many people as possible; it’s about building genuine relationships. Some of my best opportunities have come from simply showing up, being authentic, and taking the time to connect with people beyond the surface level. Everyone has something to teach you if you’re paying attention. And I try to give where I can, whether that’s sharing something useful, supporting someone’s work, or just being encouraging. It doesn’t always feel like much in the moment, but those things tend to come back in unexpected ways.
At the end of the day, I try to approach relationships with intention but without pressure. I focus on being consistent, showing up when it matters, and letting connections develop naturally instead of forcing outcomes. When you take that approach, opportunities tend to follow in a way that feels more organic and sustainable.
