Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Nguyen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started taking social media more seriously in 2023, but I’ve been online for as long as I can remember. Back in high school, I would occasionally collaborate with eyelash and contact lens brands, which was my first real taste of content creation. When I left Austin for college, I began treating social media as more than just a hobby and saw it as a creative outlet.
I’ve always been a creative person. Growing up, I loved painting and drawing, and I started modeling at the age of 12, doing small gigs in Austin and New Orleans. I took a break in high school but picked it back up in college. I’ve always been drawn to the glamour of fashion and beauty, from the styling and makeup to the collaboration that happens when creatives come together to make something beautiful.
That passion eventually led me back to social media with more intention. My content really started to take off when I began posting videos that were funny, relatable, and a little unhinged. It felt risky at first, but I knew people would connect with it. I wanted to build a community where people could see me as I am, without filters or my guard up. Seeing others resonate with my content and engage with it has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey.
Balancing school, work, and content creation was definitely challenging, but it paid off. In 2024, I was able to collaborate with several dream brands like Valentino Beauty, ThredUp, Medicube, and Armani Beauty. I also started working with local stylists, photographers, and other Dallas creatives, which has been such a rewarding experience.
This year, I’ve been exploring more of the behind-the-scenes side of the creative industry. I interned at a PR firm as a social media intern, managing multiple hospitality accounts in the Dallas area. I currently manage social media for a skincare brand and influencers, and I am a freelance model. I have also been assisting at fashion shows, helping designers backstage with their collections before they hit the runway. I’m also stepping into creative direction, combining everything I’ve learned so far in fashion, beauty, and social media.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It would be amazing if it were a smooth road, but it definitely hasn’t been. There have been so many moments when I’ve thought about giving up and deleting all my accounts. From burnout to negative comments, I had to learn that my online persona and my real-life self need different kinds of care. I’ve learned to develop thicker skin and not take things too personally or let hurtful or discriminatory messages affect my peace.
There’s also a lot of rejection in this industry, which isn’t new to me since I started modeling at a young age. Still, it can be discouraging when you put your heart into creating something and it doesn’t perform the way you hoped. Over time, I’ve come to see rejection as redirection. Every “no” or low-performing post is just guiding me toward something better. I try to turn the negatives into positives because staying stuck in disappointment doesn’t help me grow.
I’ve realized that what you put out there doesn’t have to be perfect. Showing up and being consistent matters more than chasing perfection. It’s more authentic to make mistakes, learn from them, and use that experience to create something even more meaningful. While I still struggle at times to find my way in this industry, I always remind myself to keep going. I truly believe in myself because if I don’t, who will?
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator, social media manager, and creative based in Dallas. I focus on fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, and I love making content that feels real, fun, and relatable. I also freelance model and work behind the scenes in the creative space, helping brands and designers bring their ideas to life through social media, styling, and creative direction.
I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown creatively. I’ve had the chance to work with dream brands like Valentino Beauty, Armani Beauty, and ThredUp, but honestly, I’m just as proud of the relationships I’ve built with other local creatives here in Dallas. Collaborating with people who share the same passion is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
I think what sets me apart is that I blend creativity with strategy. I love making content that not only looks good but actually connects with people. I’m not afraid to show my personality or be a little unhinged online because I think that’s what makes it authentic. I just try to have fun with it and stay true to myself.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think confidence has been the most important quality in my success. In this industry, you really have to believe in yourself before anyone else does. There have been so many moments where I’ve doubted myself or overthought whether I should post something, but I’ve learned that confidence is what pushes you to take risks and put yourself out there.
For me, confidence doesn’t mean always having it all figured out. It’s more about trusting your creativity, your instincts, and your vision even when things feel uncertain. That mindset has helped me grow, whether it’s pitching to a brand, showing up on camera, or trying something new creatively.
Confidence has also helped me stay true to myself online. I think people can tell when you’re being genuine, and that authenticity really comes from being comfortable in your own skin.
