Life & Work with Iris Caldwell of Frisco TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iris Caldwell

Hi Iris , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
IRIS
Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Iris jump-started her career in fashion and modeling and moved to NYC. There Iris obtained two out of three of her degrees and found her true love for mentoring.

Throughout her career, Iris has had internships with companies like Donna Karen International, NBA Brooklyn Nets, NBA Charlotte Hornets and modeled for companies like Allure Magazine, Carolina Bride, Lancôme but it all led her back to her passion of helping youth and preparing them for their futures.

While in school at Queens University for her master’s in Communication Iris had her first job with Girl Scouts Hornet’s Nest Council. There she was able to hone in on mentoring and non-profit work. Iris is still modeling and acting today signed with 3 agencies across the US and working in non profit.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not smooth at all when it comes to some struggles, I first moved to New York when I was 20 years old I was able to work with a lot of companies as an unsigned model, but it was not easy. I had to persevere. I had to push myself I had to open doors that may have been locked originally, but I figured a way in and I figured a way out and look where I am now to say that.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

Iris Caldwell: A Visionary in Fashion, Modeling, and Community Engagement

I’ve always been passionate about blending my creative talents with my commitment to empowering others. My journey, deeply rooted in nonprofit work and helping people, has evolved into a multifaceted career that bridges the worlds of fashion, modeling, and community impact.

Modeling and Mentorship
Recognizing the potential in others and nurturing their growth, I began teaching modeling to aspiring talents a few years ago. My efforts have yielded impressive results: three of my students, including two high schoolers and one adult, have been signed to modeling agencies. These models are now actively working and advancing their careers with opportunities to sign with larger agencies nationwide. My mentorship goes beyond teaching technique—I instill confidence, professionalism, and the skills needed to succeed in the competitive modeling industry.

Event Hosting and Styling
I’m a seasoned event host, organizing everything from fashion shows to networking and business events. My work in fashion shows is particularly noteworthy, as I meticulously plan and curate each detail to create immersive and unforgettable experiences. My styling expertise extends to commercial and brand shoots, with notable clients such as Champion and Interstate Batteries benefiting from my keen eye for fashion and aesthetics.

Wedding Content Creation
Adding another dimension to my creative repertoire, I’ve ventured into Wedding Content Creation. This unique role allows me to blend storytelling with visual artistry, capturing the essence of special moments in a way that resonates deeply with my clients.

TV and Film Experiences
I’ve also made my mark in the entertainment industry, appearing in notable TV shows like Married at First Sight and a Netflix movie featuring Lindsay Lohan. These experiences have enriched my perspective and allowed me to bring valuable insights to my teaching and creative endeavors.

Teaching the Next Generation
Driven by a desire to give back, I’m now focused on educating students about the intricacies of modeling and the broader fashion industry. My goal is to empower the next generation of creatives and professionals, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to thrive in their pursuits.

Looking Ahead
My journey is a testament to my dedication, creativity, and community-focused approach. Whether I’m mentoring young models, curating fashion shows, or styling for major brands, I continue to inspire and uplift those around me. With my dynamic skill set and unwavering passion, I’m poised to make an even greater impact in the worlds of fashion, modeling, and beyond.

How do you define success?
Success is not always a straight one-way path most of the time you have to hit bumps or roadblocks or detours, but knowing when to pivot or when to be able to readjust yourself is true success. Knowing to be able to not give up and being able to figure out new ways to hit that goal of success is really what makes that road success truly successful.
