Life & Work with JACE

Today we’d like to introduce you to JACE.

Hi JACE, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Just like anyone else I’ve always loved music since a child I would image myself performing in front of thousands of people at a sold-out show similar to the way athletes dream of hitting a game-winning shot in front of a packed arena. I got my start by downloading instrumentals from limewire & uploading them to a program called acid that I went in on with four other friends to purchase from best buy. Needless to say, I kept pursing my dreams & no longer use either of those programs but instead record to tracks created by Grammy-nominated producers & my favorite program to work with these days is protools. I do a little bit of everything from rap, r&b, producing, & songwriting for myself & other artists including those on majors labels & local acts. I personally enjoy the creative process of making a new song & especially love performing whenever & where ever possible. I just recently opened up for the late grate Nipsey Hussle’s artist J Stone at a popular staple in the city named Trees. Being on that stage just gives me a feeling that is hard to top & I plan on touring with my own catalog soon enough.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road of an artist is never smooth in my opinion I can’t speak for everyone else but for me, some of the struggles have just been finding a way to get my music to a bigger audience without signing to a major & giving up all creative control which would surely speed up the process.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in songwriting I’m known for my catchy hooks & high-energy adlibs. I most proud of my latest song called Money & Love which is streaming on all platforms right now & the video is nearly at 10,000 views on YouTube. What sets me apart from others is that I’m the only one that can tell my story bc I’m me there is no one else like me. Even if you do similar music you won’t be able to replicate my story.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My upbringing & the way I was raised is really important to my success. I was mainly raised in a single-parent household by my mother. Her my little sister & myself would stay in small apartments throughout the Dallas area sometimes my mother would have to use the living room as her bedroom in order for me & my sibling to share the actual bedroom. Even though I come from humble beginnings I feel like I’m very successful now due to those times of hardship & my parents instilling a moral code within me.
