Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquaveone Walker.
Hi Jacquaveone, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been making music for a while now but didn’t start taking it seriously until around 2019/2020. I started making music because it became a way for me to express everything I was experiencing and seen. I’ve always loved music, until at some point I realized I wanted to create something people could connect with instead of just listening to it but didn’t really know how to. I wasn’t surrounded by a big industry or anythin, my homie had his own setup at his crib and that was my first time actually recording; when we dropped it I believe it hit around 2k views which was crazy to me since the song was terribly mixed. From there I bought my own equipment & setup and just started learning as I went, and trying to get better with every song. I later connected with my homie axvl who helped showed me the production side while I was putting us on shows and hosting our own events. Getting to where I am today has been all about consistency. My biggest inspirations in music are Lil Uzi Vert, Lucki, Chief Keef and Robb Bank$ I would say.
I’m still growing as an artist, but I think that’s what makes the journey exciting. My goal has never been to chase trends it’s been to build something that last, bringing the ideas in my head to life. Everything I’m doing with my music and the brands around me is about creating a world people can be part of. This is only the beginning, and I’m focused on making every project better than the last. Right now I have a more trap/glo style with a lil bit of melodic mixed in, sometimes I do use rage, plugg and plunge beats every so often; those are the type of beats I originally started from. I’m part of a collective and we’re really been locked creating everything from music to clothes.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been plenty of ups and downs, songs that didn’t perform the way I hoped, songs I didn’t like that went crazy and moments where I questioned everything. But instead of stopping, I kept creating, kept improving my sound, and kept building my own lane. Every release taught me something new, whether it was about making better music, marketing, or connecting with people who genuinely rock with what I do. Right now I’m focused on more of the engineering side of things, really trying to perfect the sound as good as i can get it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an independent artist from the DFW area focused on building more than just music—I’m building a brand and a culture. My music blends melodic flows with hard-hitting beats and real-life experiences. Whether I’m talking about chasing success, overcoming setbacks, or just enjoying the lifestyle I’m working toward, I want people to hear authenticity in every track.
What I’m most proud of is staying consistent and continuing to grow. Every release has pushed me to become a better artist, and I’ve learned that success comes from showing up even when things don’t happen overnight. I’ve also been building Renegade alongside my music, creating a collective where artists can grow together while still staying true to themselves.
What sets me apart is that I’m thinking bigger than just making songs. I’m creating a world around my music through visuals, branding, fashion, and the community I’m building. I want people to recognize my work before they even hear my name. I’m not trying to copy what’s popular—I’m focused on creating something that feels authentic, lasts, and gives people a reason to keep coming back.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now, my focus is on growth and consistency. I want to keep releasing music that shows my progression as an artist while reaching more people with every project. I have new singles on the way, a collaborative tape with another artist, and an EP that I’m excited for people to hear. Every release is another step toward building something bigger than myself.
Outside of music, I’m continuing to grow Renegade into a recognizable creative collective and expand into fashion and other creative ventures. I want everything I put out—whether it’s a song, a visual, or a clothing drop—to feel connected and represent the same vision.
Long term, I want to build a brand that has a lasting impact. I’m looking forward to performing in more cities, collaborating with more artists, and creating opportunities for the people around me. I’m still at the beginning of the journey, but that’s what excites me the most. There’s a lot more to come, and I’m just getting started.
