Justin P. , thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Well, I’m known from many of my accolades but to reintroduce myself; my name is Justin P. Slaughter. I’m an American Actor known for 2019 “90 Feet From Home”, 2021 “Meteor”, 2022-2023 “Egress” mini series and many other Films including 2025 “Mrs. Missing”. Being an Actor is one thing though. I’m also a Recording Artist and Songwriter known for my single “Oh (Move Ya Body)” that is available on all digital music platforms. Not just that but I’m also a Producer at IAJ Media; a film production company based out of Bellingham, WA. Then there’s this thing when people would ask “What is his day job?”. Well then that’s when I’ll say, I’m also a Certified Personal Trainer and owner of JSlaughterFITNESS; been in that realm for over 11 years. I am former Amateur Bodybuilder and former Fitness Model. I also have Pilot License and fly single engine prop planes when I have the time. Overall, I’m definitely not a couch potato I don’t think.
Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Close to the end of 2024 was quite productive. I was working on a Thriller Feature Film titled “Mrs. Missing”. The synopsis is “The morning after a dinner with his wife, Adrian Hayes, reports to police that his wife is missing. After growing pressure from the police, friends of Adrian paint a different picture of his marriage than originally thought. Adrian’s strange behavior and lies lead the police and those around him to question if he had something to do with the disappearance of his wife.” The film stars myself along with Sydney Haygood, Nancy Dillard, Demetrius Joseph, LaYauna Bonds, Charles Black and Antonio; written by Brandon Newman. I’ve worked on that project for pretty much the remainder of the year and it was great working with an incredible cast and crew. We held each other accountable to bring our best performance to this film. The beginning of 2025 has been very productive as well because I’m also working on 2 films; one is a Sci-Fi Suspense and the other is a Crime Drama. The Sci-Fi Suspense is titled “A Light In The Ether” produced by IAJ Media and Directed by Clarito Zapanta starring Jeliza Zapanta and myself. I’m excited about this project because it’s being shot in Virtual Production Studio which is different from the other films that I’ve been a part of. I’ve seen it done on Thor: Love and Thunder and The Mandalorian so I’m truly excited for A Light In The Ether; pre production has started and filming starts this coming month. A Light In The Ether synopsis is “A little girl is stranded in an
escape pod in outer space.
Her courage is put to the test
in her journey for survival.”. The Crime Drama Feature Film is titled “Love & Other Crimes” this is another film that’s being produced by IAJ Media and Directed by Clarito Zapanta but this one has been written by Brandon Newman who has also written “Mrs. Missing” so it’s great to be able to work again with Brandon as well. This film is currently being pitched but should be looking at Pre Production coming up soon. The synopsis to that one is “A charming drifter’s romance with a small-town waitress is derailed when he’s pulled into the violent world of an old friend’s crime syndicate, where survival means embracing the darkness or risking everything to escape.”. Now even though I said I’m working on 2 films, there’s actually a 3rd one. I’ve been on physical prep to get back into the Sci-Fi realm of being Adam Huxley in the “Egress” Feature Film also produced by IAJ Media. One of our complex and highly anticipated projects. We’ve gotten an attachment who’s interested in a very important role of this film, my big bro Mr. Michael Beach; American Actor known for so many films and shows over the decades including Aquaman, Sons Of Anarchy, Mayor Of Kingstown and so many more. The synopsis to Egress is “In Sidon, Adam Huxley mourns the death of his mother. His grief is cut short when an ENJI Corp employee reveals that she’s been uploaded to Afterlife (a technology that preserves human consciousness] Meanwhile, a prolific war General Hollen Makoto issues a terrorist attack setting off a chain of events that reunite his former squadron that is tasked with hunting him down. This band of unlikely alliances leads to shootouts, bar brawls, and space combat among the stars. ENJI’s security officer, Kess Kynes, navigates alliances with former comrades, including Huxley to take down their formal General, Makoto amid a looming revolution. As conflicts escalate, Afterlife’s dark truths emerge culminating in a showdown to save humanity from destruction.”. Other than than those films, my agent at Pastorini-Bosby has been keeping me incredibly busy wi auditions coming in left and right. So fathe end of last year and the beginning of this year has been very exciting and I’m looking forward to what’s coming up next.
What would the perfect day look like for you? Please give us as many details as possible.
For me, the perfect day would be a nice sunny day with temps as high as 72 degrees, just a little breeze, not too strong. Family time in the back yard having a good time with a little water fight while putting some Tomahawk Steaks on the grill and listening to some good 80s and 90s music.
