Life & Work with Kameron Day of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kameron Day.

Hi Kameron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began pursuing a creative career the day I “quit” my office job. One day, I got tired of always wondering “what if”, and realized life didn’t have to be that way. I developed this deep passion for self-expression through artistry, after finding my own voice through producing music as a hobby (at first). After learning how empowering creating could be, I took my artistry more seriously, started my content creation journey, and began to not only share my art with the world, but encourage others to do so.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The pathway to success is not linear. There’s some rough days where imposter syndrome kicks in, especially when working alongside so many talented artists,.There’s days where I feel like I’m not sure what I’m doing, but I just keep moving forward. Life is a feeling process, and for me, I feel like I’m supposed to be creating. I take that feeling, and let it soothe me on the days where obstacles feel over bearing. I’m learning to fall in love with the bumps in the road, because those are the parts of the journey we remember the most, and we grow from them.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist. I specialize in songwriting, music production, and audio-engineering. I’m known for my music, as well as my small, but mighty social media presence (@kamerondayofficial on TikTok). I’ve been creating music and posting consistently for about 2 years now. I make music that blends Alternative Pop with Hip-Hop & R&B.

I’m proud that I’ve been able to build a small community of supporters and listeners who not only engage with my art, but also feel encouraged to pursue their own endeavors artistically. I’m proud to be making a positive impact on other artists, influencing them to charter their ambition, and pursue what brings them joy and fulfillment,

What sets my brand apart from others is the level of vulnerability I choose to display, especially since it’s part of my brand values to be honest and authentic. I share my moments of intimacy and insecurity with my audience. Lots of artists will try to function under a persona that may not always show the behind the scenes of their artistry, but my brand focuses on exactly that. My lyrics, social media content, and even my melodies share a common theme of vulnerability despite the pushback I’m liable to receive. I value authenticity and show that through voicing my ups and downs artistically.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My family has been my backbone whenever I found my back against the wall. My sister, Niya Athiena, a talented artist pioneering the Cleveland, Ohio music scene, mentored me at the beginning of my creative career, teaching me about audio engineering and producing. My brother, Devlinbleu, encouraged me to push myself and consulted me in moments of confusion. My good friend Niki Joans, has also played a major role in introducing to the music scene in Dallas and enabled me to build community here. There’s so much love and support I’ve received from family and friends, they have been the sole force of my drive many times.
