Life & Work with Kayla Bieser of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Bieser.

Hi Kayla, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After planning my own wedding in 2022, I absolutely fell in love with all things weddings and I decided to make a major career change from social services to the wedding industry. I began working for a local wedding venue, Davis and Grey Farms in Celeste, Tx where I took on the role of Venue Manager and Social Media Manager. It is through my role as the Social Media Manager that I found my love for creating wedding content! I found so much joy in documenting these major moments for our couples in a beautifully candid and authentic way. However, at the time, wedding content creation had only barely began to work its way into the wedding industry and was honestly not on my radar at all. In the spring of 2024 is when I began seeing a true need for the third perspective that wedding content creation brings to the photo and video team on wedding day and I noticed that there were very few content creators in the DFW area and in Texas as a whole. I began dreaming of what it would look like if I took wedding content creation full time but I was so nervous to jump into a role that was still so new in an industry that is already as established as the wedding industry is. In June of 2024 I decided to take a huge leap of faith and launched Content by Kayla, a wedding content creation service that candidly captures your wedding day in an elevated and authentic way! Content by Kayla started with just an iphone and a dream and in the last year we have grown into a team of four: myself and my three amazing associates Cameron, Mason, and Maggie! As a team we have booked close to a hundred weddings, traveled to capture weddings both out of state and internationally, and just captured our first New York Bridal Fashion Week where we worked with designers such as Berta, Galia Lahav, and Pnina Tornai. Starting this business has lead to us meeting the most amazing couples and wedding professionals and has resulted in opportunities we only ever dreamed of. We celebrate our 1 year anniversary on June 18th, 2025 and we are so incredibly grateful and proud of the growth we have seen in this first year and cannot wait to see where year two takes us!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have been so incredibly blessed to work with so many amazing couples since we started last June. Our personal experience is that grooms and brides are so excited about wedding content creation and definitely see the value in it! However, when we first started to capture weddings, we did experience quite a few wedding professionals that were pretty apprehensive or even resistant to having a new wedding vendor working their way into the industry. When we started, there were already content creators who had been capturing weddings for about a year or so but it still hadn’t taken off quite as much as it has now. This meant that many vendors had not experienced working with a content creator themselves and had only seen and heard about content creation via social media or other vendors. Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding wedding content creators was not great at the time. There was a preconceived notion that wedding content creators were inexperienced, unprofessional, and only got in the way of the photographers and videographers. While I certainly still experienced many vendors who were very kind and open minded to the idea of working with a wedding content creator, there were also many vendors who made it very known that they did not see value in the service I was offering. However, I was determined to show every vendor that we worked with, specifically the photo and video team, that we can be a major asset on the wedding day and that we carry out our role in a professional manner that does not distract from the wedding or the couple’s experience but rather enhances it. The first several months definitely felt like we were constantly having to prove ourselves but it was a challenge we were up for and one I feel we have succeeded at! Wedding Content Creators all over the world are working hard within our niche to develop and perfect our craft and to show our industry that we are service that provides value to not only the couples that we serve but to the industry as a whole. Over the course of the year, the Content by Kayla team has built so many amazing relationships with the wedding professionals within our community and we have hopefully helped to give other vendors within the wedding industry a more positive perception on this profession as a whole!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We strongly believe that your wedding day should not feel like a photoshoot. You should be able to be present and live in the moment and have those genuine memories you’re making be captured in the most authentic way. In order to achieve this, we use minimal to no posing and document your wedding day exactly as it happened. We then deliver all of the raw footage to our couples within 24 hours so they can relive their wedding the very next day! We also create short “ready to post” highlight reels that our couples can easily save, send, or share! Like all wedding content creators, we do all of this right from our iPhones! What I feel helps us to stand out in an industry that continues to grow overnight is our distinct editing style and our decision to not have an emphasis on content creation for the purpose of sharing on social media. I like to say that we create content that makes you feel something. We don’t pay too much attention to social media trends, trending sounds, or edits that will “perform well” on social media. We aim to create highlights that make our couples and their loved ones feel all the feelings and emotions they felt in the moment when the are watching those moments back! I would say that we are a really nice balance between traditional videography and social media content creation. We focus on creating beautiful and clear videos like you would get with traditional videography but with a focus on capturing those moments in a way that is still very real and raw.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The words I always use to describe Content by Kayla are “elevated and authentic” because I feel like both of these words perfectly describe the couples we work with, the work that we produce, and the way in which we perform our role as wedding content creators. We have found ourselves primarily booking within the luxury wedding circuit both in DFW and beyond and we pride ourselves on providing a luxury and elevated experience to every couple we work with. With that elevated experience comes elevated content that does not look like your typical iPhone video but instead has clear quality and crisp lighting. We utilize the word authentic because we pride ourselves on capturing moments that were not orchestrated for a photo or video but that happened organically and authentically. The couples we work with are also very passionate about having photos and videos that are authentic and unposed and we absolutely love helping them achieve that! We truly love what we do and love serving our couples and I think this adds to our authenticity and is reflected in the work we produce.
