Life & Work with Kaylee Meyer of Dallas/Fort worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee Meyer

Hi Kaylee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I went to university to study oil painting and was also a yoga instructor during that time. I have always been an advocate for mental health and wellness. Eventually, I experienced burnout in my art practice and found myself drawn to the philosophy and psychology behind creativity. I took a course to become a life coach and specialized in working with creatives for two years, helping over 20 clients one-on-one and building a following of over 20,000 across two platforms.

While building this new business, I felt a yearning to reconnect with my own creative work. For fun, I started making miniature clay models. Around that time, my partner, Ryan, and I began reading fantasy books together as a new hobby. We often talked about our mutual love of world-building and storytelling. One day, Ryan suggested adding big swords to my clay figures, and he offered to write backstories for them. From there, we created a map of the world and developed unique packaging. That’s how Adorable Arsenal was born.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Adorable Arsenal has gained traction quickly, and we’ve sold out at most of our shows. However, getting to the point of having such a playful and lighthearted business wasn’t easy. It required me to find my way back to a more joyful mindset after dealing with burnout, generalized anxiety, and a period of depression. It took time, introspection, and effort to rekindle my sense of playfulness, but it has been a transformative journey.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most known for the versatility of my work. My first viral video, which received over two million views, featured me sculpting, painting, drawing, wood carving, and experimenting with various mediums. Beyond visual art, I’m also a musician signed with Ketos Records Music Label in Fort Worth.

The common thread across everything I do is creativity, which is why I specialized in it as a life coach. My figurines, in particular, hold a special place in my heart—I like to think of them as “alternative medicine” because of the joy they bring when you hold them. That joy and connection are what I’m most proud of, and I believe it’s what sets my work apart.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I once heard a podcast that changed my perspective on luck. I believe you can increase your luck by putting yourself in situations where inspiration and meaningful connections are more likely to happen.

For me, life’s ups and downs have created a butterfly effect of events that ultimately led to Adorable Arsenal. The business was born out of experimentation and play. But if I hadn’t slowed down to consider selling the figures, the opportunity could have easily passed me by. So while luck has played a role, I see it as something everyone can cultivate through active participation in life and staying open to possibilities.
