Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Messica aka SKVLEZ.
Hi Kevin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I first began my musical journey as a kid exploring tons of different genres and styles that I was exposed to and falling in love with the art of it all. In middle school I got the opportunity to play the saxophone which thaught me a ton about music theory and live music. Around this same time I began going to concerts and found myself starting to gravitate towards music I truly resonated with. This led me to start researching how these genres were made and I figured out I could create insane music with just a laptop. I immediately dove right into music production head first and haven’t looked back a day since! My passion and love to create the art I love has been my fuel to get me where I’m at now. I’m constantly pushing myself further and further, and getting better at my craft daily!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a huge roller coaster to sum it up! Always fluctuating between high highs and low lows, and everything in between. The music industry can be extremely complex and also competitive which can sometimes make you feel like your goals are lightyears away, but the next milestone and achievement is right around the corner and you just have to keep pushing. I try to take it one day at a time and always keep a forward progression overall.

I’m a music producer and DJ specializing in EDM and experimental bass music. This includes many sub-genres including dubstep, leftfield bass, riddim, UKG, DNB, house, & many more. I explore these genres and push to break boundaries and create something new and meaningful. You can experience the unique identity of my project though my brand and music.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The music industry keeps expanding and evolving in ways I couldn’t even imagine. I’m extremely excited to see how things change in the next 5-10 years and to be a part of that change!
