Life & Work with Kindall Tucker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kindall Tucker.

Hi Kindall, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I moved around a lot as an adolescent, and I never really knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. All I knew was that I wanted to make the world a more beautiful place, and I wanted to have fun doing it. I began my career in Esthetics in 2018, with my goal of becoming a makeup artist initially. However, I struggled with terrible acne at that age, so I decided to focus on holistic skin health and opened Herbal Glow in 2020. After COVID closed all businesses in the industry, I decided it was the perfect time to add PMU/Microblading to my service list. It was the perfect blend of my obsession with tattoos and makeup. After doing this for a couple years, my clientele grew and grew. I’ve seen and met hundreds of beautiful faces in the DFW! I love the feeling of building relationships with my clients while creating art that will last forever. Fast forward to now, I am about 7 months into my tattoo apprenticeship at Sacred Art, Kailua. I’m living on Oahu and working hard to become a better artist every day.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve had my ups and downs just like anyone else who has chased their dreams. It hasn’t been easy, but I can confidently say that I have been very fortunate along the way. I think for me, the hardest part of being a creative is staying out of your own head. Being your own biggest critic is a blessing and a curse, as it keeps you outperforming yourself- but it can be tough sometimes. I feel lucky every day to be in a position where I’m surrounded by great artists who are always willing to help in any way that they can.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Tattoo apprentice, Piercer, Microblading artist, and Aesthetician. Since my Tattoo apprenticeship began in 2022, I’ve been very tunnel vision on Tattooing and Art as a whole. I’ve hopped back and forth from here to Dallas, seeing my clients for microblading as needed. I specialize in natural-looking, permanent eyebrows! My clients come to me looking for the “no makeup makeup” look.

As I grow with my art, I have tried to avoid putting myself into a box with a specific style. I’d like to be able to cultivate that in time. I think having a background in permanent makeup has given me some strengths, specifically with shading and also with small needle groupings. As of now, I’m taking walk-in tattoos every day, growing my clientele in Hawaii, and learning every single day.

It’s an unreal experience. I get to meet artists from all over the country and learn new skills and techniques while finding what works best for me. I think it’s an advantage a lot of artists don’t get, and I am grateful every day for it.
