Life & Work with Kristen Banner

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Kristen Banner again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Kristen, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Hey readers! Last time we were here, I was probably starting my brokerage, Rad House Realty. We’re in full swing with a couple agents and going strong! We like to keep it eclectically different at Rad House and everyone here has the desire to keep their own personality the forefront of their business. In addition to Rad House, we have Rise Agency. Rise is an apartment locating business located in Dallas, Austin & Houston! Lastly, I am in the process of opening my “online closet/styling” business. I call it that because Boutique sounds way too old school for my brand. How did we get here? Through blood sweat and tears.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Last year I was busy trying to keep organized and threw myself into a hole of never ending to do lists. I did not have the energy or time to recruit agents for Rad House with all of my daily tasks. So, this year we are hiring radical humans to match their real estate dreams!
Rise Agency is new to me as of a couple months ago, but we are always hiring as well! I am the Broker of Record for this business and my friend, Kelly Cox, owns and runs the daily operation.
Unbothered Label is my closet/styling passion project. I am aiming to have this ready to roll by April. We will still retro clothing (new and used), give how to’s on how to wear the object of clothing and an option to message personally with me.
One thing I have learned over this last year was you have to start before you are ready.

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

  • Favorite Book: Author – Colleen Hoover
  • Favorite TV Show: Schitts Creek
  • Favorite Band or Artist: I like it all
  • Sweet or Savory: Savory

What are you most excited about in the coming year?
I am in a mental space to focus on my careers. I’ve reached a point to where I know what I am capable of, but also expect greatness. I am not sure how to get there and I am okay with that! All I know is I have to put in the work and you can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results. I have seen a lot of progress in just one month of changing my focus & giving gratitude for the failures and experienes I have been through. Next on the list is stepping out into the unknown and I am VERY stoked about this journey of entrepreneurship.
