Life & Work with LaTorri Richardson of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTorri Richardson.

Hi LaTorri, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
’m LaTorri Richardson, born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. My journey started with a dream and a deep desire to do more—not just for myself, but for those watching me, especially the next generation. I always knew I had something to say and something to give. Early on, I faced challenges that tried to silence my voice and limit my potential, but I refused to let circumstances define me.

I pursued my education with purpose, eventually earning a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship. That decision opened doors—not just professionally, but mentally and spiritually. It taught me how to take ownership of my vision, build from scratch, and stay disciplined even when the outcome wasn’t certain.

My passion for people and personal growth led me to motivational speaking. I didn’t wake up one day and suddenly have the confidence to speak into lives—life prepared me for it. I learned to turn my pain into power, my setbacks into setups, and my faith into fuel.

Today, I speak to inspire, teach to empower, and live to serve. Every room I walk into is a reminder that where you start doesn’t determine where you finish. My story is still being written, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned—it’s that obedience to your calling will always take you further than fear ever will

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. The road to where I am today has been full of bumps, detours, and moments that tested everything I believed about myself.

I struggled with finding myself, both in life and in my dreams. There were seasons where I felt overlooked and unheard—where acceptance felt out of reach, and being myself didn’t seem “good enough.” I wrestled with completion—starting things and not finishing them, battling self-doubt every step of the way.

I originally enrolled in college straight out of high school with dreams of becoming a music educator. But life happened. I didn’t finish, and for a while, I thought that was the end of my academic journey. But 19 years later, I went back, stronger and more determined, and earned my degree in something completely different—Entrepreneurship. That shift wasn’t just about changing majors; it was about changing mindsets.

Even then, the journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t easy. I received a lot of “no’s.” And for a long time, I didn’t know how to handle rejection. It felt personal—like I wasn’t good enough or smart enough. But I eventually realized those no’s weren’t the end of the road—they were redirections, refining me and strengthening my resilience.

Today, every struggle has become part of my testimony. Each setback taught me to pivot, to grow, and most importantly, to believe in myself even when others didn’t.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and educator rooted in purpose and passion. My work is centered around helping people break through mental and emotional barriers so they can walk boldly in their calling. Whether I’m speaking on a stage, mentoring someone one-on-one, or encouraging a classroom full of students, my message remains the same: you already have everything you need inside of you—you just have to believe it and act on it.

I specialize in real talk. I connect with people from all walks of life by keeping it honest, relatable, and full of heart. I talk about the things people often struggle to say out loud—rejection, identity, delayed dreams, self-sabotage—and I share how I overcame those very things. I’m known for blending inspiration with practicality, giving people not just motivation, but tools they can use to shift their mindset and change their life.

One of the things I’m most proud of is going back to school after 19 years and earning my Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship. It wasn’t just a degree—it was proof to myself and others that it’s never too late to become who you were meant to be. That moment affirmed my belief in second chances and the power of persistence.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just speak from a place of success—I speak from the trenches. I’ve lived through the doubts, the detours, and the disappointments. I know what it feels like to want to give up. But I also know what it feels like to keep going and finally see the breakthrough. That’s the fire I bring into every room—authenticity, relatability, and faith-fueled encouragement that empowers people to rise.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that delay is not denial. For years, I thought setbacks, rejection, or detours meant I wasn’t good enough or that my dreams were out of reach. But over time, I realized that every “no” was actually a form of protection or preparation, shaping me for something bigger than I could see at the time.

I’ve also learned the power of being authentic—showing up as myself, flaws and all. When you stop trying to fit into boxes and start walking boldly in who you are, doors open that you didn’t even know existed.

Most of all, I’ve learned that faith, consistency, and resilience will always take you further than talent or opportunity alone. You don’t have to have it all figured out; you just have to keep going.
