Life & Work with Linda Lieffers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Lieffers.

Hi Linda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In September of 2018, I was feeling burnt out from my job and decided to take one year off and try my hand at painting. For the first year, I basically painted, ate, and slept. I constantly was pushing myself to understand and learn the techniques of acrylic as well as oil painting. With perseverance I finally found a style of my own and began getting sales. I never did return to my normal job as I found myself creating a niche in the art world and sales continued to grow.

Today my art biz is flourishing, creating nonstop for galleries and worldwide collectors. Every day I feel incredibly blessed to be a full-time artist and have the opportunity to do something I passionately love…paint!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The first few years were incredibly challenging as I was still in the learning phase and not feeling that I had captured my own voice as an artist. The struggle was very real to create something uniquely mine. After countless hours and many failed attempts, I painted one particular abstracted piece with enormous ease. Then came another artwork of similar style and I realized I was finally onto something. Phew… things were all lining up and I felt I was truly on my way to becoming the artist I so often dreamt about.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an abstract artist, I create very large, colorful artworks. My style is bold often painting with very energized and vibrant colors. I am best known for my effortless blending and very powerful color combinations. My artworks are generally very abstracted landscapes and just recently have begun expressing myself with abstracted figurative. A huge victory has been having the opportunity to show and sell my creations in New York City through Tambaran Art Gallery located in Manhattan.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My family deserves a huge round of applause as they are constantly helping me perfect the business side of things. My husband plays a major role by handling the administration as well as building all my frames. Without their huge support I definitely would not be where I am today.
