Life & Work with Lindsey Torres of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Torres

Hi Lindsey , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started doing hair a little over 10 years ago, I was in a commission salon, and then a private suite, and right before the Covid pandemic hit I was in the works of opening a brick and mortar salon, open concept, and a variety of services. I really wanted a one stop shop, and I missed being around other stylists because it was always more fun and motivating!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh no, but getting a new business started never is. I was always one to try new things though, so I was used to being a little uncomfortable in the process of any change.
I am in a shopping center but it wasn’t like passerby traffic alone would be enough exposure. It took about 2 years just to get my business verified with google. And learning the ins and outs of commercial real estate was a whole other animal that I was really just teaching myself as I went.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full service hair stylist and salon owner. I have stylists, as well as an esthetician, that lease a station and run their own business within the salon,
I specialize in Color, Extensions, as well as men and women’s haircuts.
I am most proud of the fact that I took the risk of opening during the pandemic, and the clientele that I have maintained as well as gained because of the attention to detail I have always had with each and every person. I am proud to be able to say that I worked hard and had so much support from clients who loved my work that I was able to start this journey and do a complete build out for my salon without taking out a loan of any kind, and with little knowledge of commercial real estate.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how while DFW is pretty large, it still has a small town feel. Especially in the hair industry, everyone knows someone that knows someone you know, and it’s very much a community driven by women empowering women and promoting so many individual businesses.
It’s always been my home, I think my only dislike is wishing our city had more pretty scenery like mountains or tall tree and hillsides. As opposed to what I more so see, like neglected business properties or garbage in the streets.

Pricing:
