Life & Work with Liran Friedman of Little Elm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liran Friedman.

Hi Liran, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Thank you to Voyage Magazine and to everyone reading.
We’re grateful for the chance to share our journey – and if you enjoy this even half as much as we enjoy what we do at Malka, then this interview already served its purpose!

Our story began with a simple belief:
that beauty and wellness should feel honest, warm, and genuinely supportive –
a place where people feel comfortable investing in themselves.

My personal path led me to the U.S. a year after completing three years of military service in Israel, carrying the values I was raised on: responsibility, kindness, consistency, appreciation, and showing up for people.

Over 15 years working in client care and consultation – mostly in skincare, but in other fields as well, serving both private clients and businesses – I’m grateful to have had the chance to learn from many different people and approaches.
Despite the differences between industries and roles, one insight became clear:

people feel confident investing in places where they feel understood, valued, and guided with clarity.

Malka Med Spa was built on that foundation.

In our early chapter, the spa grew together with my close friend and co-founder, Izhak Revah, and his wife Sara.
Their dedication and loyalty shaped Malka’s beginning, especially during the blessing of their firstborn son Zohar Yosef.
As their long-term plans moved toward life in Israel, we closed our business chapter with the same respect and friendship that opened it.
We’ve been friends since first grade, and we’ll always remain close friends, God willing.
And from there, the team and I continued shaping Malka’s next chapter.

Today, Malka is young but growing, God bless.
We’re focused on steady, meaningful progress – better care, deeper trust, and stronger relationships.
A little better every day, together.

And from that point on, it was all about building Malka one step at a time – and let’s just say we collected plenty of “learning moments” along the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Wow… where do I even start?
Building Malka has been a journey full of small, meaningful moments – some that make you smile, some that make you pause, and many that remind you why serving people is at the heart of everything we do.

Many clients arrive unsure – curious, overwhelmed, or simply new to aesthetic treatments.
Through personalized care, clear guidance, close follow-up, and a focus on long-term results, we’ve built a loyal community that returns regularly because they feel understood – and because they see real, lasting improvement.

In aesthetics – as in any field working with the human body – treatment plans naturally evolve and require adjustments along the way. That’s part of personalized care.
And on the uncommon occasions when a result needs correction, we stand behind our work fully: refining, clarifying, adapting, and doing what’s needed for clients to feel confident and satisfied.
That trust is precious to us.

As the work evolved, so did the structure behind it.
From consultations and day-to-day operations to partnerships, vendors, and community involvement – we built the system step by step, always keeping people’s wellbeing at the center.
And as that foundation settled, we shaped a structure where everyone understands their strengths and responsibilities – our own starting five – moving with coordination, lifting each other, and shaping the experience people feel the moment they walk into Malka.

And honestly?
One of my favorite parts is being the cleaning guy of the team.
It keeps everything grounded.
No role is above another – we all contribute, and we take pride in the details that make Malka feel personal.

And maybe that’s the real answer to the challenge:
once we built a team that truly shows up for people – with consistency, care, and heart – the trust naturally followed.
And that trust is what allows everything else to grow.

Because at Malka, the story isn’t just about treatments or systems –
it’s about the people behind them.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Malka Med Spa, we focus on long-term, non-invasive beauty and wellness solutions built on clarity, honesty, and and personalized care.

We operate as service providers and problem solvers – with availability, communication, and thoughtful attention to every client.
People make confident decisions when the plan is clear and tailored to them.

We invest time in understanding each person – their goals, routines, lifestyle, and skin history.
From there, we create treatment plans that feel natural and sustainable, combining in-spa care with a customized home routine supported by AI-based analysis.

And the trust that grows from that approach is something we don’t take lightly.
Recent data from BusinessRate – based purely on public Google rating analytics – ranked Malka as Little Elm’s top-rated med spa for 2025.
We appreciate it because it reflects genuine client experiences – and it’s always meaningful when real-life feedback is echoed in objective data.

THE TEAM: HEART, GROWTH & CULTURE

Since our culture is something we build together, I’ll let Marlie share it in her own words. As our Lead Esthetician, she helps shape that culture with professionalism, heart, and a steady, warm presence. She puts it this way:

“What I love most about Malka is that the culture is consistent – warm, honest, humble, and team-oriented. Clients feel it the moment they walk in. We’re not just providing treatments; we’re building relationships and supporting each other with real care.”

Marlie is getting married this February, and even her mom and fiancé have been visiting the spa as part of the preparation – a small but telling sign of the trust people feel here.
She captures our growth mindset well:

“We grow together. That’s what makes this place meaningful. Liran gives us space to learn, rise, and lead – and we all support each other in the process.”

Our team – Marlie Teel, Emma Baldwin, Akiva Anthon, and Yuliya Naurotskaya – works with unity, intention, and flow.
Each person brings something distinct to Malka: Emma’s precision and calm confidence, Akiva’s creativity and uplifting energy, and Yuliya’s attention to detail and genuine care.
And that’s only a glimpse – each of them brings more than I could ever fit into one interview without turning this into a small book.

What makes this team special isn’t just skill – it’s the way they show up for each other.
They communicate, adapt, cover for one another, celebrate every win, and move like a group that truly wants to grow together.
Clients feel that harmony immediately, and it’s a huge part of why Malka feels the way it does.

And part of what keeps that energy healthy and sustainable is the balance we choose to live by.
We work 24/6 – fully focused during the week, and fully present with family, rest, and perspective on Saturdays and major holidays.
That rhythm keeps us grounded and allows us to show up with clarity, warmth, and intention.

Our friends and families love coming to us too – not just because they know us, but because they trust the care, the results, and the environment we built together.
And this human factor – that blend of skill, warmth, and teamwork – is deeply woven into Malka’s DNA.
It’s what gives Malka its unique glow and energy – and hey… don’t say we didn’t warn you. 😉

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Gratitude & Partnerships

First and foremost, we thank God for guidance and blessing.
And every single day, we’re deeply grateful for our families – their love, patience, and support are the quiet strength behind everything we do at Malka.

We believe that healthy skin is part of a balanced lifestyle.
Movement, rest, good habits, time for yourself, and community – they all play a role.
Our partnerships reflect that philosophy.

Texas Legends

We’re genuinely grateful for the warmth, professionalism, and trust within this partnership.
Being the official med spa for their dancers and organization is an honor, and we take it to heart.
We build personalized treatment plans for the dancers and staff, supporting their confidence and performance throughout the season.
And on game days, we love surprising fans with gift cards, good energy, and positive connection – it’s our small way of giving back to a community that welcomed us so fully.

Stewart Peninsula Golf Course

We’re grateful for their continued collaboration as we enter our second year as partners and sponsors.
We host fun, community-centered events for our members there – and enjoy a round of golf whenever the schedule allows.
It’s a setting that blends wellness, nature, and genuine connection, which fits beautifully with the values we try to bring into Malka every day.

Closing Note

We’re truly fortunate, and deeply grateful for the partners we’re blessed to work with.
They mirror the values and mindset we try to live by: great people create successful partnerships.
And with partners like these… we’re having so much fun we forget it’s business.
