Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Holmes.
Hi Matt, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Waterloo, Iowa. I was really into sports but accidently fell in love with theater. I moved to Oklahoma and got my BFA at the University of Oklahoma (Boomer!).
I then moved right after graduation to Dallas, TX. It was intended to be a stepping stone out to either LA, or another, larger market. The goal was 5 years, I’m now going on my 9th year in DFW, and never imagined I’d be where I’m at today.
I work primarily as an actor on film and tv, along with tons of commercial work. I do Voice Over for Crunchyroll, one of the biggest anime dubbing companies internationally. Turns out they’re based here in Coppell, TX. Who’d a thought.
I still do theater once in a while to mix it up.
I own and operate my own entertainment company here in Dallas, called Hit Entertainment. DFW is a city full of opportunities, and my goal with this company was to connect artists to more of those opportunities. Let me tell you, I know TONS of performers, from musicians, circus performers, skit writers, and anything in-between. It was win win for me. I create unforgettable experiences for my clients, and bring more work to my friends in the industry. I love what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
At the very start, I had horrible imposter syndrome. I felt like I was pretending to know what I was doing. But as I started working on new projects, and meet new clients, things started to smooth out. I’ve really found my way to grasp onto the potential this company has. As it has grown, it’s been exciting to see where it may lead!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I wear many hats in my life, but I primarily see myself as an actor. I intend to see myself as a filmmaker soon, (secret project pending) but my work mainly circles around being an actor.

I would say I am most known for my work on the TV series, Vindication Series. We are on our 4th season, and it’s been an exciting project to be a part of!
I am also gaining popularity in the Anime world for my roster of characters that I voice: Shows: Solo Leveling/The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic/Ice Blade Sorcerer/One Piece/Black Clover
I am an incredibly extroverted person. I love working with people. But I also hold myself to a very high standard, and have found that working alone has its benefits.
I feel like what makes me stand out, is my unending perseverance and rigorous work ethic, coupled with an incredibly friendly personality.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that there’s a ton going on around this city, what seems to be EVERY day. There’s a ton of pride and love for the city all around, and it shows in the night life and on weekends. Every corner of Dallas is packed almost every weekend, I guarantee you!
I’d say I hate Dallas drivers. Some of the most entitled people, willing to cause horrible accidents for no logical reason 0ther than their egos’ were hurt on the road. Horrible city to drive in.
