Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Larson.
Hi Michelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Houston and was a National Team Member in gymnastics. I retired from competition and started my own gymnastics business. I was the owner and head coach for over 20 years. My business would host many national and international competitions. I sold the business and started teaching lower elementary school. I taught for over 15 years and had always had a passion for flowers. My husband and I moved to Dallas 7 years ago. My daughter got married and to help with the budget I did all her wedding flowers. The joy I had designing and building her floral vision touched my heart. I knew I had to help other brides with their vision but keep their budget in mind. My mission is to help my clients with a stress free and budget friendly design process for their event. Flowers bring happiness and joy to all kinds of events.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a blast starting Scent From You Flowers. I love communicating with the clients. My brides are all so sweet and eyes wide open. The paperwork is my struggle. I would much rather have my hands on flowers.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I had to be very creative in my gymnastics career and then as an educator working with children I had to have patience. Both careers set me up for my floral business. I am creative, patient, and organized. I feel my communication skills sets me apart.
What’s next?
I would love to continue to help others with their floral needs. The joy it brings my heart continues to grow.
