Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Iniguez
Hi Nick, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started playing basketball when I was 12 years old all the way until I turned 20. For 8 years of my life, I learned what it was like to have a passion for something. At the time, basketball wasn’t a hobby it was a lifestyle. Through basketball I learned what hard work, discipline, & perseverance was. It got to the point where I would let outside distractions play into what I was trying to chase within the game of basketball. It led me to realizing that basketball was all a life lesson to prepare me on what was to come down the road.
In the year of 2022, I was 20 years old & had this void of feeling like I want more out my life than just go to work & hit the gym. On April 4th, 2022 me & some friends went to Monday Night Raw at the American Airlines in Dallas, Texas.
Before the show started, we went to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center where WWE held a SuperStore. Where they showcased a room full of iconic moments, merchandise, video games, & even real Pro Wrestling rings. I’ve watched & loved the sport since I was 4 years old so to see everything in the convention center was something I’d never forget.
The moment I saw the ring, I told my buddy “I’m going to go be a Pro Wrestler”. He said “Go do it bro, I’d think you’ll kill it. You have the personality to do it fam.”
From that moment, the idea would spark in my head time & time again. Till one day, I went out to Pluckers with my mom & she just wanted to know what I’d want to go do with my life. I told her sarcastically, “I’m going to be a Pro Wrestler.”
She said, “Go do it.”
On June 21st , 2022 I made the decision that I want to try to become a Professional Wrestler. I was motivated to where I ran 3 miles, learned how to take a “bump” on my carpet in my room, & cutting promos in my mirror.
The next day, I began to search “Pro Wrestling Schools near me”. I came across Sir Mo’s Bumps & Bruises Pro Wrestling Academy. Sir Mo was a former WWF Tag Team Champion in a team called “Man On A Mission” with his tag partner “Mabel”.
I didn’t think twice about it. I began to call the number that was linked to the website. The phone rang when none other than Sir Mo picked up.
He said, “hello”.
I said, “Hello, Sir Mo. My name is Nick & I’d like to know how I can tryout to become a Pro Wrestler.”
He said, “Can you come by to our school in Carrollton by 5:30pm?”
I said, “yes sir, I’ll be there.”
The call ended & I’ve never been so scared yet so excited in my life.
I went to the kitchen & told my mom “I’m going to school at 5:30 for a tryout.”
She said, “What for?”
I said, “guess”
She said, “You’re going to a wrestling school.”
I said, “yes ma’am”. She told me good luck then I went to my room.
I sat at the edge of my bed so nervous about what’s going to happen, which led me to pray. I prayed & asked God to guide me down this path, watch over my life, & stay with me through the entire process.
Once I finished, I began to play “Change” by J Cole & tears started coming down my eyes as I began to process that it’s go-time.
My mom proceeded to walk in my room & said “Son, I don’t want you to be scared. I want you to know as your mom I’ll support you through it all. You’re going to be great in this business one day.”
From that moment, the rest was history.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been full of ups & downs, as all journey’s are that way. The first struggle was in training. Learning how to take bumps, run the ropes, & put your body through something it’s not used to doing.
The biggest struggle was tearing my labrum in my left shoulder 10 months into my career. I tried so hard to work around it & continue to train the way I was training. I began physical therapy for 2 months because I didn’t want to get surgery. Till June 14th, 2023 I tore it completely off the bone in practice & couldn’t move it at all. From that moment, I needed to listen to my body, see the doctor & schedule surgery.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I go by ‘The Hottest Ese’ Daniel Alexandro, the current SOAR World Heavyweight Champion.
Knowing that I’m blessed & fortunate enough to be apart of this Professional Wrestling business is something I’m grateful for everyday. Everyone who is apart of the business, plays a major role on what we do for the people. Our goal is to escape people from reality & bring them into our world. Captivate them by getting them emotionally being invested in every story, character, & every moment we create.
One of the most proud moments of my career, is signing my first Professional Wrestling contract with The O.I.W.A.
Doing so is a testament of the work I put day in, day out & doing so when nobody watches.
I pride myself on having integrity & being better today than I was yesterday. Tomorrow is never promised & if we’re blessed enough to wake up today, then we have to do everything in our power to maximize every second, every minute, & every hour to be the best.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by the work you put in to get to where you want to go & who you want to become. In life to get to the places you want, you have to sacrifice. Whether that’s friendships, relationships, family, etc.
I don’t look at success as cars, clothes, & money. All of those things are just a by product of the grind & the work you put in to get there.
The real success is being a good human being, Loving your neighbors, & treating people how you want to be treated along the way.
