Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Huff.
Hi Pamela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a result of COVID, many people began looking for something different—a change from the status quo. Like so many others, I found myself ready to step away from the traditional large-corporate environment. Around that time, I was invited to be part of a new business with a bold goal: to disrupt the air charter marketplace.
All of the founders, myself included, bring deep aviation experience, and we believed we could deliver capabilities typically reserved for major airlines to smaller air charter operators. In essence, our mission was to democratize the horsepower of the corporate airline engine—making powerful tools and resources accessible to boutique charter operators who historically wouldn’t have access to them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Penetrating an established market where operators were deeply rooted in long-standing processes proved to be one of our greatest challenges. Many relied on the limited tools they had always used, and change—especially change driven by software—can be intimidating. There were concerns from multiple perspectives: fears that technology might replace jobs, and worries that adopting new systems would mean relinquishing control.
In reality, our platform delivers the opposite. We provide operators with greater control, expanded visibility, and access to a broader set of capabilities that were previously unavailable to them. Trust was, and remains, a critical factor. As a new entrant to the market, we had no established track record at the outset, which meant earning that trust had to come through transparency, reliability, and results.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My background is rooted in sales and business development. At the Foundation Fighting Blindness, I built models that not only increased awareness of the mission but also helped generate more revenue in my state than had ever been achieved before. Listening to people—truly understanding their needs—is what fuels my passion and drives meaningful results.
At Sabre, I worked on building models designed to bring structure to complexity—turning chaos into clear, measurable goals. While the challenge itself was energizing, what excited me most was collaborating with team members, listening to their struggles, and helping them better organize and showcase the work they were producing.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned that when you take the time to understand what others need, you gain insight into their goals. That understanding allows you to build business plans that accurately track progress and success—aligning the right solutions with the right challenges and completing the cycle.
What matters most to you?
Taking the company’s goals and developing innovative ways to solve challenges is what moves an organization to the next level. Forecasting within the ambiguity of the aviation industry is a challenge in itself. The air charter industry is highly fragmented, and bringing a solid plan into play often requires adaptation and rework along the way.
At Charter and Go, establishing clear goals—and continuing to move forward with purpose—is key to our success. While it’s important to have visibility into the 10-year, 7-year, and 3-year horizons, it’s the day-to-day execution and willingness to adjust our path that keeps us agile and aligned.
Start-up companies face challenges on many fronts, but maintaining momentum, passion, and engagement across the team is critical. By putting a consistent structure in place, we help simplify our team’s work, keep the fire alive, and create an environment where people can thrive.
