Life & Work with Quan Diamond of Dallas,Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quan Diamond.

Hi Quan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m an Army veteran, entrepreneur, life coach, and currently finishing my Master’s degree in Business Leadership, which I’ll complete in May 2026. My journey has really been built on service, resilience, and a desire to uplift others.

My foundation started in the Army, where I developed discipline, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of what it means to serve something greater than yourself. After transitioning out of the military, I knew I still wanted to serve, just in a different way.

In 2018, I launched Diamond Quality Cuts as a licensed barber. Barbering became more than just a profession for me; it became a platform for connection. The barbershop allowed me to pour into people, build confidence, and create a safe space for conversation. At one point, I started offering free haircuts to homeless and underprivileged individuals through a nonprofit initiative because I believe dignity starts with how you see yourself.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to pause the nonprofit work, but my commitment to service never stopped. I continue to offer free life coaching because helping people grow mentally, emotionally, and professionally is part of my purpose.

Now, as I complete my master’s degree, I’m preparing to focus even more intentionally on supporting fellow veterans. I understand firsthand the challenges that come with transition, identity shifts, and rebuilding after service. My goal is to use my education, lived experience, and leadership background to create programs and opportunities that empower veterans to thrive, not just survive, after the military.

Everything I’ve done, from the Army, to barbering, to coaching, to graduate school, connects back to one core mission: serving others and helping them realize their value and potential.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Transitioning out of the Army was one of the biggest challenges because I had to rediscover who I was outside of the uniform. Like many veterans, I faced moments of uncertainty, identity shifts, and the pressure of figuring out my next move while still carrying the mindset of military structure into a civilian world that operates very differently. Starting Diamond Quality Cuts in 2018 also came with its own struggles; building a business from the ground up required financial discipline, long hours, setbacks, and learning through trial and error. There were seasons when resources were limited, and I had to make tough decisions, including pausing my nonprofit initiative that provided free haircuts to the homeless and underprivileged due to unforeseen circumstances. Balancing entrepreneurship, life coaching, and pursuing my Master’s degree hasn’t always been easy either; it’s required sacrifice, time management, and mental endurance. But every challenge strengthened my resilience, sharpened my leadership skills, and reaffirmed my purpose. The road hasn’t been smooth, but every obstacle has shaped me into the leader and servant I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in helping individual, navigating transition, build clarity, confidence, and discipline in their lives. Through Diamond Quality Cuts, I’ve created more than a safe space; it’s a space where people feel heard, valued, and empowered. As a life coach, I focus on mindset development, accountability, and strategic goal setting, helping clients navigate identity shifts, career changes, and personal growth. What I’m most proud of is my commitment to impact over profit, whether that was providing free haircuts to homeless and underprivileged individuals or continuing to offer free life coaching services. What sets me apart is lived experience: I’ve led in the military, built a business from the ground up, faced adversity, and pursued higher education while staying mission-focused. I combine discipline with empathy and practical strategy, and I’m known for being authentic, consistent, and purpose-driven in everything I do.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is impact, knowing that my life and work genuinely make a difference in someone else’s life. Service has always been at the core of who I am, from my time in the Army to building my business and offering life coaching. I care deeply about helping people recognize their worth, develop discipline, and step into their full potential, especially individuals going through transition. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful guidance, support, and belief can be during uncertain seasons. For me, success isn’t just measured by titles or income; it’s measured by transformation, the lives changed, the confidence restored, and the leaders developed. That’s what drives me every day and why I continue to grow, learn, and position myself to serve at a higher level.
