Today we’d like to introduce you to Quentin Moore.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Quentin Moore, I’m a Texas Based Artist / Musician. I have had the privilege of being a full-time musician since 2010. I’ve performed in over 30 countries, and I’ve collaborated with or shared the stage with many artists such as Snoop Dogg, Gary Clark Jr., Anthony Hamilton, Babyface, and many more! I started music as a drummer at my church and I vowed to never become an artist because of what I saw my older sister go through in her music career. My first love was sports, specifically Football. I played Football all from middle school until college. After playing football for 1 year at The University of North Texas, music stole my heart. Inspired by a 2003 Juneteenth performance from now good friends Carmen Rodgers, and Gordon Pope, I started to write my own songs and perform. I started my first band, “SoulBol,” and we performed several events around UNT until I graduated in 2007. After graduation, I drove buses and trains until I was eventually fired and became a full-time musician in 2010. Since then, I’ve released over 10 albums and I’m still going strong today in 2023.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being a full-time musician has always been a risk. I remember being so scared that I wouldn’t make enough money to pay my bills in the beginning. I remember Budgeting and eating off the dollar menu at Mcdonalds’. I remember going to every open mic to sell CDs and get my name in the basket for more gigs. Over the years, Marketing has always been a challenge. The way music is marketed changes almost every year, but I’ve manage to study and continue to produce music and content. The COVID Pandemic was a very huge scare for all musicians. I wasn’t sure if I’d make music again, but by the power of GOD and the love of my fans, I MADE IT and I’m still here today making music!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I know we generally think of a mentor as someone older and more experienced, but over the years, that definition has slightly changed for me. I find that many of my peers will have just as much experience or advice as some of my seasoned or veteran people. Maybe it’s because I’m getting old! LOL! But keep an open mind when looking for tips and advice in life. You can learn from many different types of people of all ages.
