Life & Work with Reagan Rice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reagan Rice.

Reagan Rice

Hi Reagan, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Today, families living in the United States reported spending an average of 1 hour or less per day with their children (According to U.S. Census Bureau). This means the world has more influence on your children than their own parents. This is one of many reasons why laundr-it.com is a necessity, not a luxury.

Being a full-time firefighter, father, and business owner means I, too, have fallen into this same trap of spending little time with my son. don’t feel bad; we’ve all been there…

Starting a few not so meaningful businesses, I felt a lack of drive and servitude. Not that I didn’t appreciate my clients because I was blessed to serve them! But something was missing, and I couldn’t put my finder on it. I loved the businesses, but I truly did not feel like I was giving them a service that 100% bettered their lives as a family. There was no real satisfaction at the end of the where I had the thought of, “Yeah, feel like I was able to significantly impact their lives as a family.” I didn’t help them become closer… I didn’t help free up their time… I didn’t really help them much, at least in my mind. I needed to feel as thought I left there, and they were now able to spend more time as a family together, not cause more pain to their wallets. How can I serve people better? How can I show God’s love for people through me?

One Saturday, I had planned to take my son to the park, which is one of his favorite places to go when I realized the laundry still needed to be done. My son is now running around and causing absolute chaos that all three-year-olds love to inflict on their parents… I mean, who could blame him when his father promised to take him to the park and all his energy gets ramped upped, right? As I am trying to rush to get this laundry done so I can take my son to the park, amongst other chores, a thought crossed my mind about my mom and how busy she was when I was my son’s same age.

My mother always worked so hard to make sure we had the perfect balance between everything, but she always seemed so stressed between work, me, household chores, and everything else that gets thrown at you during the day. I never had a true respect for what she did until I was about 28 years old. She would always seem more worried about the household laundry/cleaning than us spending time together. I don’t blame her either; what else was she supposed to do? Let it all pile up??? No, that’s not the type of woman she is, but that’s what our weekends were mostly consumed with… laundry.

If you’re thinking, here comes the standard, “There has to be a better way.” You’re absolutely correct, I said jokingly under my breath while watching my son cause more destruction than any parent should endure, “I wish there was someone that would just launder our clothes for us.”

That’s when Laundr-it.com was born; LAUNDRY PICKED UP, LAUNDRY DELIVERED. Built for the busy family of North Dallas. Soon the research began, and the talks with my Business Partner commenced. I started this business taking out my entire 457B retirement from the Fire Department and going all in and quickly brought in Levi Wood, now CEO of Laundr-it.com. Levi and his family have the best-maintained machines and laundry equipment in the Dallas, Texas area. With people giving us some of their most personal laundry items, I had to know our client’s laundry would be in the right hands.

We have laundr’d thousands of pounds of laundry with Laundr-it.com at this point, and we are only getting started. Our goal is to bring a laundry-free life to every family living in the DFW area in the next 5 years all with the single click of a button, “Schedule a Pickup.” When laundry used to take you 8-12 hours per week now only takes you about TWO minutes. ONE minute to schedule your pickup and select your laundry preference, and ONE minute to set your laundry outside.

Next time you have too much laundry and zero time, “Just Laundr-it at Laundr-it.com.” It’s like UBER but for your dirty laundry. We pick up your dirty laundry, we WASH-it, we DRY-it, we FOLD-it and DELIVER-it back to your front door, ready to put away, all at LAUNDR-it.com.

To top it all off, the ICON for our logo expresses our personality as a business. We wanted the right amount of professionalism, with an equally amount of fun. A pair of tighty-whities is a good illustration, yeah?

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Thinking I was near homeless in January 2023, I know by the by the Grace of God we are still here today ready to serve North Dallas families. With the rise of materials, fuel, and inflation as a whole, we did not have enough revenue coming in, and I personally was using my Fire Department W-2 job to pay for some business expenses in the beginning.

God gave me a phenomenal business partner and we wouldn’t be here today without his leadership and help along the way. This is why Levi Wood is the CEO because he sees the true vision and the impact we are going to have on North Dallas families in the many years to come.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
All I want is for people to know my love for serving others. I am imperfect, with many mistakes under my belt, but God gave me a passion for serving others, and I’m blessed to be given that responsibility.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We are just thankful for the opportunity to share our story; thank you.
