Life & Work with Reginald Foreman of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reginald Foreman.

Hi Reginald, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Reginald Foreman, and I am a former offender who overcame gangs, a life of abuse, and past mistakes through faith in God. Today, I am an entrepreneur, keynote speaker, certified life coach, and author, committed to impacting others and changing lives.

I grew up in the Chicago projects and later became entrenched in Miami street life. I was illegally sentenced to 18½ years in federal and state prison for armed bank robbery. After serving 4½ years, I was released—only to be rearrested and told I had been let out erroneously by mistake. In the midst of confusion and despair, I turned to God, and that decision changed everything.

By the grace of God, I became a fashion designer, author, empowerment speaker, CEO, mentor, and life coach. I have been blessed to participate in over 60 interviews across radio, television, and magazine platforms. My story has been featured on The CBN 700 Club, TBN’s JUCE TV, the front page of the St. Louis American Business Section, and Today’s Christian Living Magazine. I was also nominated as Be Modern Man by Black Enterprise.

Following a season of notable success, I experienced a painful divorce and endured two years of homelessness. During a time of deep frustration and prayer, I heard God clearly say, “You are pursuing success, but I have called you to ministry.” That moment caused me to reassess my priorities and shift my focus from chasing success to pursuing God’s will.

During this same challenging season, I suffered the heartbreaking loss of my daughter due to premature birth, and my son was born with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Through it all, God remained faithful.

Through God’s favor, I went on to successfully self-publish 10 books, earned my certification as a life coach, and launched a global toy line called Reggie The Lion and Friends. I later remarried, and today my wife and I run Reggie The Lion LLC and the Purpose in Pain Foundation together. In 2024, we released the first ten episodes of The Reggie The Lion and Friends TV Show featuring Mr. Reggie.

In 2024, The Reggie the Lion and Friends TV Show featuring Mr. Reggie was featured on BeeTV, a network owned by HBCU graduate April Ross. The show aired in parts of Lower South Alabama and the Georgia region, available on Spectrum Cable and various streaming platforms.

Season 1 of the series is also available on YouTube at @reggiethelionandfriends.

In April 2025, God instructed my wife and me to relocate for ministry and business. That obedience led us to Fort Worth, Texas, where we joined Reach City Church. What followed was a true wilderness season—moving from hotel to hotel for eight months, trusting God daily.

Then everything shifted.

We were offered a contract with RightNow Media to produce a season of our children’s show, Reggie the Lion and Friends featuring Mr. Reggie.

RightNow Media is a global online video streaming library serving over 30,000 organizations, including churches, schools, and businesses. It is used by churches in nearly 100 countries, with partners on the ground in Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the United Kingdom, India, South Korea, Brazil, Egypt, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Soon after, we were also offered positions as Channel Managers for OBBM Network.

OBBM Network (Opportunity in Building Better Media) is an independent media platform amplifying real voices, diverse stories, and conversations often missed by mainstream media. The network streams in 20 states, 63 cities, and reaches more than 25 million monthly viewers through Roku, Fire TV, the OBBM app, and other platforms.

We’ve been granted clearance to add all of our original content—our children’s shows, documentaries, my new talk show Purpose in Pain, our cooking series Cooking with Mrs. Tan, and additional projects currently in development. Beyond producing our own content, we’ve also been entrusted with bringing other high-quality, faith-driven shows to OBBM, providing a platform for fellow creators and storytellers.

Yet, my greatest achievement goes beyond television and business.

It is watching my son Jeremiah share the stage with me since the age of five. Seeing him boldly speak life, faith, and hope from his wheelchair empowers both children and adults alike. His life is a living testimony that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness.

My journey stands as proof that no past is too broken, no pain too deep, and no situation too impossible for God to redeem.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I’ve had to overcome many obstacles, and many of them were inside of me. I had to learn how to overcome failure, fear, and unresolved anger from my past.

Being abused by a mother who was hurting herself left a deep wound. Growing up in the Chicago projects was another. Then being illegally sentenced to 18½ years in prison added an even heavier wound.

There was no natural reason to believe I would become anything. I truly could have died in prison But I picked up the Bible, and I believed. To go on to write 10 books after being a high school dropout is unbelievable. When I started making $2,000 for an hour to speak, it shocked me. I barely made that working ten hours of hard labor.

I’ll never forget the first time I saw two lines of people waiting to talk to me after I finished speaking. People were buying my products, and it took nearly another hour just to leave the room. That feeling was incredible, especially considering I had once experienced homelessness.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a certified life coach, author, and keynote speaker. I specialize in helping people turn their pain into purpose. Every book I’ve written, every TV show concept, and every product I’ve created was born from that mission.

From my T-shirt designs, “I Was Created to Be Successful,” “Greatness Lives Here,” and my bestselling shirt “God Made / Imperfect Royalty” each product is intentionally created to speak life into people and help them believe in who God created them to be.

My story truly sets me apart. As we develop our faith-based toy line, it has already been compared to VeggieTales and Mickey Mouse. This is an African American ex-offender creating a global toy brand rooted in faith, purpose, and hope.

Our prototype doll speaks positive affirmations when you squeeze him.

This is what I’m most proud of, having the opportunity to help children believe before they ever learn to doubt.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My faith, tenacity, and persistence are my best characteristics that I attribute to my success.
