Today we’d like to introduce you to Riza.
Hi Riza, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m an inspired musician/singer who grew up from rough beginnings with a handful of brothers on a road to becoming the world’s next best thing. Music has always been my life and it saved me from a life of drugs and violence because I made a promise to myself that I’d make it out the hood and that the world would know me before I depart. I’ve faced obstacles, made painful sacrifices, took big risks, faced betrayal, went through trials and tribulation, and even had self-doubt along the way. But all remained strong with the help of friends and most of all God. I got the kinda story only true underdogs would ever understand. Moreover I wanna show the world that if you have a dream to hold on to it even if it means your life because without that dream there wouldn’t be even a life to live. As of today I can safely say I’m living the dream. I’ve had my successes but I’m always hungry for the next move. I’m proud to still be on my journey to success along with my brothers started with and we still got a long way to go but this is all we live for.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth isn’t even in my vocabulary when it comes to my journey. Growing up in the hood only taught me the harsh realities of how the world is and what it can do to you if you ever get lost in it. I’ve faced betrayal from own family, from people that only saw me as a dollar sign, from people that got close to me only to try n ruin my process. I’ve gone thru unlimited amount of “No’s” just too someday get that one “Yes”. I remember running out of tears at 15 because it got to the point to where I didn’t have time to cry. I had to think of new ways to get to where I needed to go by any means necessary.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer. I’ve been singing for almost 10 years. I’m known to have a wild imagination then it comes to creating music. I love to think of my songs as movies and always love to give each song the best story. More over I’m proud of to have built a solid team that is dedicated to seeing this journey to the very end.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Through all the chaos this world has brought to me I’m blessed to have built a team out of loyalty and trust. My engineer/producer Erik Martinez and my creative director Josh Le. Without these 2 there wouldn’t be me nor would my music even exist. These 2 have stood alongside the toughest time and have dedicated countless hours to see this journey closer to its destination.
