Life & Work with RUBBiE

Today we’d like to introduce you to RUBBiE.

Hi RUBBiE, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So, for those of you who have been missing out on the pleasure to know me, my name is RUBBiE. I am a 21-year-old rap artist and entrepreneur from Los Angeles, California. I started my journey in 2014 after moving here to Fort Worth, Tx in 2013 at the age of 12. I started my career off as RED Perfection before I changed it in 2019 to RUBBiE. I have always been in the driver’s seat of my career, and it’s been lots of trial and error. But it was all worth becoming the woman I am today. Last year, I founded my own record label called Real Raw World LLC. After researching and educating myself on the business aspect of the industry, I wanted to set up a stronger foundation to represent my brand and protect my hard work. I am also the 1st artist on the roster and the face of the company. My husband and I have been working together for the past five years to build our empire, a strong team and share my talents with the world. As far as entrepreneurship goes, I am a licensed realtor and real estate mentor in North Texas. So be sure to get at me if you need me! I got you.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It takes a certain type of individual to chase their dreams regardless of what life throws your way. Everyone has their opinions about your life decisions, who you are, and who you should be. For some of us, it’s difficult to find unconditional support and respect for taking this life-changing adventure of following your intuition. Not to mention the funding… of your livelihood… your business. Everything comes with a price to pay or sacrifice to make. But it’s worth seeing the end results of truly believing in yourself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
My main focus right now is getting my music career off the ground. I want to show off my raw and uncut style of music and discover my audience. On top of being an energetic performer, dope songwriter, and a busy businesswoman, I have a huge personality. So, I’m getting ready to launch my podcast, “Real Raw Radio,” this summer. I needed to find some way to get intimate with my fans and let them in on who I truly am and what’s going on with my career. Tune in with my podcast to hear more about new music, content, shows, and more. As far as real estate goes, I am now mentoring and training agents who are in need of hands-on help with their careers. Hobby wise? I’m preparing to launch a side business in selling custom press-on nails I designed myself. I learned it’s important to use your talents to get by, so that’s exactly what I’m on.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve been risk-taking for the last 9 years, so I’m an expert on the topic. I don’t want to dig too deep into it, but I will tell you there’s no getting past it. Almost everything you do as an entrepreneur is a risk. Sharing your ideas with others, investing in your business, or performing your new song in front of strangers can all come with a consequence or lead to an error. But you live, you learn, and you keep going.
