Life & Work with Sally Atkinson Stegall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sally Atkinson Stegall.

Hi Sally, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started styling only on the weekends because I had a full-time job, then in 2015 I left my job and decided to freelance styling full time and never looked back. I just did what I truly love to do and made it a career for me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road; there is always challenges in everything you do; it’s just for you to just keep going. Leaving my job in 2015 taking a risk not knowing how I am going to provide for my family without a steady income, that definitely was a big challenge for me. By the grace of God, everything worked out.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a fashion stylist/creative artist; I create looks and provide fashion advice for my clients. Pull together clothing for photo shoots and commercial and red-carpet moments. What I am most proud of is not giving up when I first started styling. When times were hard, and I wasn’t getting enough styling work. I just kept going because I know this is what I loved, and I believed in myself to know it would work. Another proud moment is seeing the confidence on my client’s faces when there dressed.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see my industry growing more, taking more fashion risks, taking on more clients, continue to be more creative, and keep elevating.
