Life & Work with Samantha Lopez of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Lopez.

Hi Samantha , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My passion for cooking started when I was around 9 or 10 years old. My dad, who attended culinary school in New York, introduced me to the kitchen and taught me the fundamentals of cooking. Spending that time with him sparked my love for food, and from that point on, I knew cooking was something I wanted to continue learning and growing in!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I actually started by selling plates from home, and while I loved it, I eventually realized I wasn’t reaching enough people to keep growing the way I wanted. It became overwhelming, and I started feeling burnt out trying to do everything on my own. Instead of giving up, I decided to enroll in culinary school. I wanted to sharpen my skills, especially when it came to preparation, organization, and time management. That experience helped me become a more efficient chef and gave me the confidence to continue pursuing my passion in a more professional way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Today, I specialize in intimate dining experiences and small private events. Since it’s just me, I really enjoy creating personalized experiences where I can focus on every detail. I’ve recently expanded to offering tea parties featuring tea sandwiches, homemade dips, and mini desserts. My brand, Soul by Sammie, is built around the idea of putting love into every dish I create. I’m known for my attention to detail, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and making every event feel personal and memorable. I believe that’s what truly sets me apart!

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Honestly, I get a lot of inspiration from social media. I love creating cooking content on TikTok and Instagram, but I also spend time following other small creators and chefs who share the same passion. Seeing their creativity motivates me to keep learning, try new techniques, and find fresh ways to present my own dishes. I think social media has become one of the best tools for staying inspired, connecting with others in the culinary community, and continuing to grow!

Pricing:

  • My tea party packages start at $500 for up to 18 guests. That includes the food and the personalized experience I provide. If the guest count goes over 18, it’s $25 per additional guest. Since each event is customized, I always work with my clients to make sure the menu and experience fit their vision
