Today we’d like to introduce you to Spencer Conley
Spencer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been in Dallas since 2011. I came to Dallas to go to SMU where I played football for five seasons. I’ve been here for so long that Dallas feels like home now! I have been a lifelong entrepreneur. I remember selling my family tickets to watch me lip sync Backstreet Boys songs in my room during the holidays. Print Our Pet was my first business that really took off and I launched it in 2019. At the time, I was already running a pet apparel business that sold dog bandanas and scarves. One week I saw an Instagram ad that sparked the idea of Print Our Pet. My ex-girlfriend that I was living with at the time was going out of town that weekend and I had no plans. I knew that I could start Print Our Pet with almost no money out of pocket so I decided to buckle in and build the website that weekend. We launched Monday. We had our first seven figure year in 2021 and now have over 80 people working of us.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel like there are a new set of challenges that we run into every week. That’s just par for the course when it comes to owning your own business! You have to learn to become a problem solver. Challenges aren’t always negative. The harder the challenge, the better it feels when you get those wins. The challenge over the past few weeks has been building out our new website.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My life right now is centered around spending time with my family and friends, working on my business and staying physically active. I’ve really been able to settle into who I am as a person and have never felt more grateful for and content with the life that I have.
What makes you happy?
I am so blessed to have so many things in my life that make me happy. Like I said on The Bachelorette, I have so many full cups in my life. I have the best family on the face of the planet including my dog Roux. I have friends that have become my family. I have a business that I dreamed of having for as long as I can remember. I am so grateful for my physical health and to be able to have a body that is able to take on hard challenges. The only empty cup in my life is me not having my person yet. Outside of that, I wouldn’t change a thing about my life.
