Life & Work with Sruti Kafle of Bedford, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sruti Kafle.

Sruti, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a physics scholar with Master’s , yoga instructor and a kathak professional dancing on and off since i was a kid. I have a Masters degree from Prayag Sangeet Samiti university Allahabaad India. For the last 10 years i have been actively dancing and running a dance and yoga studio in Bedford Texas since 2023.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Art itself is bumpy. So i would say it was not a smooth road. Usual suspects of an artists struggle such as financial, social and what not were always there but looking back to those ups and downs they were all worthy of the ride.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As of right now, I am a full time Indian Classical ‘Kathak’ Dance instructor and a full time Yoga Instructor at my Studio in Bedford TX. I love reading and also write Aviation Blogs here and there. I love travelling and trekkings. Being originally from Nepal i have had some daring trekking experiences that i am proud of. Also being able to run a studio in the states and looking forward to it as my lasting career is definately prideful. Given everyone’s uniqueness, one’s identification and pursuit of their aptitude or forte so to speak is what i believe sets us apart from others. Mine is Sadhana which means a consistant practice to perfection.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I have fallen in love with DFW and its attitude and openness towards arts from all over the world. The people who keep the art moving and thriving. Don’t see much of cons living in dfw besides the weather and shortage of hiking trails i would say. I miss the mountains sometimes.
