Life & Work with Stacey Alanis of Terrell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Alanis

Hi Stacey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved baking since I was 13. Life kinda took over, and I stopped, only whipping up birthday cakes for family and special occasions. But in 2023, while I was running my housekeeping business, I felt that itch to get back into baking.

Every weekend I made extra cakes. Family and friends suggested I sell them. I posted a couple on a local community Facebook page, and they sold really well.

As my business grew, I started making cakes, mini cakes, cupcakes & cake bars. When family and friends who couldn’t have eggs asked for my cakes, I picked up making eggless options, which totally set me apart!

Going to events and getting my name out there has been such a blast! It’s a great way to express myself and learn new things. Thanks to all the support from customers, friends & family my business is thriving, and I’m loving every minute of it!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely been bumpy. Some struggles I’ve had were starting in general, putting myself out there, attending events, & learning to have that confidence in myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Apart from having my own baking business, I’m also a Mom/Wife so managing my business and life keeps me busy.
Stacey’s Signature Sweets specializes in eggless cakes & cupcakes which sets me apart from most bakers.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve become and how much my confidence has grown a long the way.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think taking risks is very important it can be scary but worth it all in the end.
A major risk I took was rebranding 3 months into starting my business people would say I was crazy for even changing but I think it was the best decision I made for my business.
