Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Jones Old Souls Ink.
Hi Stephanie Jones, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Old Souls Ink was born out of faith, family, and a deep respect for the stories people carry.
What started as a dream between my husband Cameron and me grew from years of hard work, sacrifice, and a calling we couldn’t ignore. Cameron is a veteran and tattoo artist with a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, and together we wanted to create something different from the typical tattoo shop—something calmer, more intentional, and rooted in integrity.
We didn’t just want to tattoo bodies; we wanted to honor stories. Memorials, healing pieces, celebrations, reminders of where someone’s been and where they’re going. From the very beginning, we set out to build a space that felt safe, welcoming, and grounded—where people could come as they are and be treated with respect.
Over time, Old Souls Ink grew into a full studio with an incredibly talented team of artists and a piercer who share the same values: excellence in craft, genuine care for clients, and pride in our work. We’ve expanded our services, grown our community involvement, and stayed rooted in our mission to serve others well.
Today, Old Souls Ink is a veteran-owned, faith-based, family-run studio—and we’re still growing, still learning, and still incredibly grateful. Every tattoo, every piercing, every person who walks through our doors is part of the story. And we don’t take that lightly.
It’s more than ink. It’s legacy, healing, and purpose—etched for life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. And honestly, that’s the part of the story people don’t always see.
The road to building Old Souls Ink has been anything but smooth. We’ve faced financial pressure, long seasons of uncertainty, and the kind of exhaustion that settles into your bones when you’re carrying responsibility not just for a business, but for people, families, and livelihoods. There were moments when we questioned if we were doing enough, moving fast enough, or even cut out for this at all.
We’ve navigated staffing challenges, growing pains, and the hard reality that passion doesn’t always pay the bills right away. There were nights filled with spreadsheets, prayers, and tough conversations—learning how to lead, how to let go, and how to keep showing up even when the results weren’t immediate.
On a personal level, the strain on our time, energy, and emotions was real. Owning a business will test your marriage, your faith, and your identity. It has stretched us in ways we never expected, forcing us to confront fear, pride, and burnout head-on.
But every struggle refined the vision. It taught us humility, resilience, and the importance of staying rooted in why we started. We learned to lean on God more than our own strength, to choose grace over hustle, and to keep building even when the road felt heavy.
The challenges didn’t break us—they shaped Old Souls Ink into what it is today. And we’re stronger, more grounded, and more grateful because of them.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Old Souls Ink, our work goes far beyond providing tattoos and piercings. What we do is create meaningful, intentional body art in a space built on trust, respect, and craftsmanship.
We specialize in custom tattoos across a wide range of styles—black and grey realism, fine line and floral work, color and neo-traditional pieces, portraits, memorial tattoos, and deeply personal designs that tell someone’s story. We also offer professional piercings and permanent jewelry, all held to the same high standards of safety, cleanliness, and care. Every piece is approached thoughtfully, with time taken to listen, collaborate, and make sure the work truly reflects the person wearing it.
What we’re known for is the experience as much as the art. Clients often tell us they feel at ease the moment they walk in—safe, seen, and respected. We’ve worked hard to create a calm, welcoming environment that breaks the stereotype of what a tattoo shop “has to be.” From first-timers to heavily tattooed collectors, everyone is treated with the same level of care and professionalism.
What we’re most proud of is the culture we’ve built. Old Souls Ink is veteran-owned, faith-based, and family-run, and those values shape everything we do—from how we lead our team to how we serve our community. We’re proud of the artists who choose to grow here, the clients who trust us with their stories, and the reputation we’ve earned for integrity, excellence, and heart.
What truly sets us apart is intention. We don’t rush people. We don’t cut corners. We don’t treat tattoos as trends. We see this work as permanent, meaningful, and worth doing well. For us, it’s not about volume or hype—it’s about legacy, craftsmanship, and honoring every story entrusted to us.
It’s more than ink. It’s purpose, connection, and care—made visible.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, we were always a little different—and honestly, that’s probably what made us fit so well together.
We’ve been high school sweethearts, side by side for over 32 years, so our stories are woven together. Even back then, we were both old souls. We weren’t the loudest in the room, but we were observant, thoughtful, and deeply loyal. We valued depth over popularity, meaning over image, and authenticity over trends—long before those words were fashionable.
Cameron was steady, creative, and quietly strong. He had an artistic eye early on, a hands-on nature, and a deep sense of responsibility. He was the kind of guy who showed up, stayed consistent, and cared deeply—about people, about doing things right, and about protecting what mattered. Service, discipline, and faith shaped him early, and those qualities only grew stronger over time.
Stephanie was reflective, expressive, and heart-led. Always drawn to storytelling, connection, and understanding people, she had a natural instinct to nurture, encourage, and bring others together. There was (and still is) a strong creative streak paired with a deep sense of purpose—asking big questions about life, meaning, and calling from a young age.
Together, we were grounded but curious. We loved music, art, meaningful conversations, and dreaming about the future long before we had the language for entrepreneurship or calling. We learned early how to grow together, not apart—how to weather change, hold onto faith, and build something lasting instead of chasing what was easy or temporary.
Looking back, so much of who we were growing up is still who we are today. The values were always there: loyalty, creativity, faith, grit, and heart. Old Souls Ink didn’t come out of nowhere—it grew out of a lifetime of shared experiences, shared growth, and a commitment to doing life, love, and work together with intention.
