Today we’d like to introduce you to Suraj Randheer
Hi Suraj , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my photography journey in 2012 February (13years ago). I love wild life, I started doing wildlife photography. I’m happy with it but I needed more zoom lens for bird photography.
Luckily one day one of my friends offered me a wedding reception event for 30k rupees inr (2012 October). It is my first time shooting an event, I was bit skeptical but I took the gig. The pictures went viral, I got so many events after that. I sold all my wild life camera gear & bought wedding related camera gear like lights, triggers, wild lenses etc.
From that day to till date there was not even a day I did look back & regretted my decision. It is fun & how many can say that they love what they do for work😃. Of course I miss wildlife photography, One day when I have enough money I will just go back to shooting wildlife. I feel the best emotions are Candids. Who are more candid than the animals & innocent kids😃.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a tough path, now there are tons of organizations that teach photography but when I started in 2012 my main teacher was from YouTube. I used to watch tons of videos on YouTube to get to know one functionality. I think it helped me alot as I learned unique ways of doing samething & it changed my perspective of thinking 💭.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
There are tons of weddings photographers in the market but there is one thing that makes me different from others, I love the capture the moment vs actually posing the couple & disturbing the ceremony. Most of my clients are South Indian (Telugu) they are shy infront of the camera. Infact most of them didn’t face a professional camera before in their life.
I talk to them, make them comfortable with the camera & pull put the most candidness from them. There are times clients write paragraphs of reviews how much they liked us & we have recurring clients.
Anyone can capture a picture but only few can capture a memory.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Some of our clients are family now. They love us so much we have a recurring clients booking. We don’t advertise but we do get tons of events via word of mouth.
The love they shower on us surprises me till date.
