Today we’d like to introduce you to Tabetha Weeks.
Hi Tabetha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up, school was never easy for me. I was held back in the third grade, struggling with reading and writing, and it wasn’t until I repeated the grade and moved in with my aunt, who was a teacher, that I was diagnosed with dyslexia. With that diagnosis came tools that helped me get by, but academics were always a challenge. My favorite parts of school? PE and lunch (if that even counts!).
Even though school wasn’t my strong suit, I was determined to be the first in my family to go to college—I just didn’t know what for. I loved basketball, but I wasn’t good enough to play at the next level, so I figured I could report on sports instead. Fast forward 15 years, and while I still love sports, my passions have shifted after getting married and having kids.
Now, instead of covering games or the daily news, I get to share my love for travel and help other moms navigate adventures with their little ones. I’ve built my own LLC, become my own boss, and created a career that allows me to spend time with my kids while traveling the world. And honestly, I can’t think of anything better than that.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Traveling with kids is hard. Parenting, in general, is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It stretches you in ways you never expected, physically, emotionally, and financially. But despite the exhaustion, the tantrums, and the endless packing and planning, I keep going.
Because I want my kids to see the world. I want them to taste flavors they’ve never imagined, hear languages that aren’t their own, and stand in places that make them feel small in the best possible way. I want them to grow up knowing that the world is bigger than their backyard and that different isn’t something to fear; it’s something to embrace.
But these experiences don’t come without sacrifice. Travel isn’t cheap, and neither is raising a family. I’ve had to learn how to stretch a dollar, how to make intentional choices with our budget so that adventure isn’t just a dream; it’s a reality. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First and foremost, I’m a believer. I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t be where I am today, coming from a background of addiction and trauma, if it weren’t for God’s grace. He has shaped my journey, making me a wife, a mother, and a businesswoman.
Through my LLC, TWTravelTricks, I write and create content about family travel, and I’m incredibly passionate about what I do. I love helping moms plan unforgettable vacations, taking the stress out of the process so they can focus on making memories with their families. I pour my heart into every piece of content I create, whether it’s for a client or my own audience, because I know how precious these moments are.
At the end of the day, family is everything. Our kids grow up so fast, and I want to help other moms soak up every adventure, every laugh, and every memory while they can. That’s what drives me: creating content that inspires families to explore the world together and cherish the time they have.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me truly happy is helping moms create memories that will last a lifetime. I know how fast this season of life goes. One day, we’re rocking our babies to sleep, and the next, they’re running ahead of us, growing into who they’re meant to be.
That’s why I do what I do. I want to help moms plan unforgettable trips, not just for the sake of travel but for the moments that come with it, the belly laughs in the backseat, the first time their little one dips their toes in the ocean, the way their kids’ eyes light up when they see something new and magical for the first time. These are the moments that stick, the ones we hold onto long after the toys are packed away and the house feels a little too quiet.
It brings me so much joy to know that in some small way, I’m helping families make the most of these precious years. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the destinations; it’s about the memories we make along the way.
