Today we’d like to introduce you to Taushey Sias.
Hi Taushey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey hasn’t been traditional at all. I started out at Prairie View with plans that looked very different from the life I’m living now. At one point, I made the difficult decision to drop out of school, and honestly, there was a time when I felt like I had missed my chance to ever become a music professional. I loved music, but I didn’t see a clear path forward, and that uncertainty was heavy.
Then life hit me in a way I never expected — I lost my house in a fire. In the middle of that loss, I made a decision to bet on myself. I put out music. I moved to Waco and enrolled at MCC, auditioned, and ended up receiving the top scholarship. At the time, I had no idea that after college I would go on to build my own company, TVL. I was just taking one step at a time, trying to rebuild and stay focused on the gift I knew I had.
What once felt impossible slowly became real. I kept creating, kept networking, kept showing up. Now I travel consistently because of music — something I once doubted could ever be my career.
My story is really about resilience, faith, and persistence. Dropping out didn’t end my journey — it redirected it. Losing everything didn’t break me — it rebuilt me. And every step, even the painful ones, led me to where I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road.
Imagine being a mother of four incredibly talented and beautiful kids while wearing as many hats as I do — recording artist, label owner, performance coach, worship leader, and entrepreneur. None of that comes with an off switch. The pressure to lead, provide, create, and still be present as a mother is real.
Behind the scenes, I’ve faced some very heavy challenges. I’ve experienced homelessness. I’ve overcome domestic violence. I’ve had moments where everything felt uncertain and unstable. There were seasons when I was building, performing, and leading publicly while privately trying to hold my life together.
But one thing I’ve always been intentional about is not allowing what was happening behind the scenes to weigh down my purpose. I never let my problems become my identity. Instead, I let them refine me. Every obstacle strengthened my resilience.
Every setback deepened my faith. And every challenge reminded me why I had to keep going — not just for myself, but for my children and for the people who are inspired by my story.
It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it. And if anything, the struggles gave me the strength and perspective I needed to lead at the level I do today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my core, I’m a recording artist and creative visionary. I specialize in blending gospel, R&B, and jazz in a way that feels authentic, soulful, and timeless. My sound isn’t boxed in — it’s intentional. Gospel is my foundation, R&B brings the emotion and relatability, and jazz adds the musical sophistication and freedom. Together, they create something that feels both classic and fresh.
I’m very hands-on with my music. I write, arrange, and vocal produce my own records. I’m intentional about harmonies, textures, dynamics — every detail matters to me. I don’t just sing songs; I build experiences. That level of involvement allows my music to feel personal and distinctive.
Beyond being an artist, I also create platforms for other singers and creatives. As a label owner and performance coach, I’m passionate about developing talent and helping artists refine their sound, confidence, and stage presence. I’ve built spaces where vocalists can grow, collaborate, and truly understand their craft — not just perform it.
What I’m most proud of is creating my own lane. I didn’t wait for permission or for someone to define me. I built something that reflects who I am musically and spiritually. What sets me apart is not just the blend of genres, but the intentionality behind it — the leadership, the mentorship, and the authenticity. I’m not just building a career; I’m building a legacy and a community.
Any big plans?
The future feels very full and very intentional. Right now, I’m excited about the new release of My Desire. This project is really special to me because it represents growth — vocally, creatively, and spiritually. Along with the release, that curated on YouTube: an exclusive live experience for My Desire that will allow people to encounter the music in a more intimate and immersive way. It’s not just a performance — it’s an experience.
I’m also featured in the new issue of Reflections vs. Reality Magazine, which is another exciting moment to share more of my story and artistry on a broader platform.
There’s new music on the way as well — both my own and collaborative projects I’m featured on. And one of the biggest things I’m looking forward to is the release of my full album coming mid-summer. This body of work is cohesive, intentional, and a true reflection of the lane I’ve created musically.
Beyond being in front of the mic, I’m stepping further into the production side. I’ll be producing more — not only for myself but for other artists — expanding my creative footprint behind the scenes. That evolution feels natural for me because I’ve always been hands-on with writing, arranging, and vocal production. But also films, shows and more.
Overall, this next season is about expansion — more music, more ownership, more impact, and deeper experiences for my audience.
