Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia
Hi Tia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I originally started my content creation journey as a business owner and as being a part of a girl group. At the time, I was focused on building my own brand and helping other entrepreneurs elevate theirs, which was rewarding but also limiting in some ways. I was often waiting on other people, getting put on hold for projects, and missing out on opportunities because I didn’t have full creative control. I wasn’t able to fully do what I knew worked or create as freely as I wanted. On top of that, I’ve always been part of a team—whether it was working with other business owners or being in a girl group—and while I loved that collaborative energy, I realized I never had something that was just for me.
A few years after stepping away from my business, I accidentally went viral with my millennial mom videos, and that moment changed everything. I finally found something I could call my own, where I didn’t have to wait on anyone or compromise my vision. I was just sharing my real, everyday life as a Millennial and as a mom, and people connected with my raw, unfiltered personality. That viral moment gave me the confidence to dive headfirst into content creation, and since then, it’s become a space where I can fully express myself.
One of the reasons I’m so passionate about content creation is that I was tired of seeing these “perfectly curated” lives all over social media. Everyone seemed to be putting on a front, showing this unrealistic version of their life that felt so distant from reality. I wanted to bring something different to the table—something real. I grew up when social media was all about having fun, being yourself, and connecting with people authentically. Now, it feels like everyone is focused on aesthetics, and I wanted to go back to those roots of authenticity.
I’ve been inspired by creators like De’arra Taylor and Monet McMichael. Even though they’re younger than me, they’ve built such incredible brands by being themselves and staying authentic, which is exactly what I aim to do. My goal is to become the next big influencer or ‘momfluencer’ in the lifestyle, family, and beauty space. What sets me apart is my personality—I’m raw, real, and not afraid to show the messy and imperfect parts of life. I think that’s what makes people rock with me.
I want to build a community where women and moms feel seen, understood, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Content creation has given me the chance to do something for me while also connecting with others, and now, I’m focused on growing my platform and really making a name for myself in this space. My goal is to take over the lifestyle, beauty, and family niche, and I’m excited for what’s to come!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road chile. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing motherhood and content creation. As a mom of 3, my time is constantly divided between taking care of my kids and trying to create content. It’s hard to carve out space for myself, especially in the beginning when I had no clear routine.
Another major struggle was learning the ins and outs of social media algorithms. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what worked and what didn’t, and the constant changes made it even more challenging. I spent a lot of time feeling discouraged by low views or the fact that I wasn’t gaining followers as quickly as I hoped. There were days when I felt stuck, questioning if I was on the right path. But I quickly realized that focusing on those vanity metrics—like views, likes, and followers—wasn’t going to get me anywhere.
Once I stopped caring about the numbers and started creating the content I wanted to see, things began to fall into place. I leaned into my authenticity and stopped trying to fit into what I thought the algorithm wanted. Instead, I focused on staying true to myself and connecting with people who truly resonated with my message. That’s when I started to see real growth—not just in numbers, but in how engaged and supportive my community became.
There were also challenges transitioning from working with other people, like in my girl group or helping business owners build their brands, to finally having something that was just for me. When you’re collaborating, you’re often on someone else’s timeline or waiting for others to take action, and that can be frustrating. But with content creation, I finally had the freedom to move at my own pace and do what I knew worked, even though that came with its own learning curve.
Ultimately, I learned to trust my own process, and while there have been bumps along the way, those struggles have shaped who I am as a creator today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create content that’s all about millennial mom life, beauty, and lifestyle, with a focus on being raw and relatable. I specialize in showing the unfiltered side of motherhood—what it’s really like to balance kids, self-care, and everything in between. My content ranges from funny, everyday mom moments to beauty tips and personal care advice, but the common thread is always keeping it real.
What I’m most proud of is how I’ve built a community of moms and women who appreciate the authenticity I bring. I’m not about the perfectly curated, picture-perfect life—I’m about showing the messy, unpredictable, and hilarious parts of being a mom, along with how I still manage to take care of myself and look good while doing it. I think that’s what sets me apart. People can see themselves in my content because I’m not pretending to have it all together, and that makes me relatable in a space that’s often too focused on “aesthetic” and perfection.
I’m also proud of how I’ve been able to grow my platform organically. A few of my videos went viral, but I didn’t stop there—I’ve been consistent in creating content that’s true to who I am, and that’s led to some amazing brand partnerships. What sets me apart is my personality and how I’m able to bring humor and authenticity into everything I do. It’s not just about being a mom or a beauty influencer—it’s about being myself and letting people connect with that.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I actually didn’t have a mentor when I started my content creation journey. Everything I learned came from research, trial and error, and just figuring things out along the way. I spent a lot of time studying the industry—watching what successful creators were doing, reading articles, and staying on top of trends. It wasn’t always easy, but those experiences taught me a lot about resilience and trusting my own instincts.
When it comes to finding a mentor or networking, my advice is to start by building genuine relationships with people in your field. Whether that’s other content creators, influencers, or professionals in the space, focus on connecting with people who inspire you and whose work you genuinely admire. Engage with them in meaningful ways—comment on their content, share their posts, or even reach out with a thoughtful message about what you love about their work. Networking doesn’t have to be formal; a lot of times, it’s about forming organic relationships that can grow over time.
What’s worked well for me is being active in the spaces where other creators and brands are. Social media is the perfect place to network, whether it’s through direct messages, group chats, or even collaborating on projects. I’ve found that staying authentic in these interactions is key. Instead of just looking for what someone can do for you, focus on how you can support each other and grow together.
Also, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Reach out to brands, fellow creators, and industry professionals even if you think they’re out of reach—you never know who might be open to connecting or offering advice. Networking is all about taking those small steps and letting things build naturally over time.
