Today we’re excited to be connecting with Tiffany Woodus again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Tiffany , we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Dr. Tiffany Woodus is a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist with nearly 20 years of experience dedicated to elevating women’s healthcare. After earning her medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completing her residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Health, she became a leader in medical education, earning multiple teaching awards and recognition for outstanding patient care. Her expertise and compassion have also earned her spots on D Magazine’s 2024 Best Doctor List and as a five-time Mom Approved Doc honoree.
Driven by a passion for advocacy, Dr. Woodus founded Woodus Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2020 to combat health disparities and provide women with equitable, respectful care. She serves as Vice Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Methodist Charlton Medical Center and leads Melanin Maternity, a digital community empowering Black mothers to rewrite their birth stories. Through her book, The Mocha Maternity Survival Guide, and her leadership, Dr. Woodus equips women with tools to make informed, confident healthcare decisions. Outside her practice, she cherishes time with her husband and three children, channeling her energy into transforming the healthcare landscape and creating a world where all women are celebrated, not just tolerated.
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Over the past year, I’ve taken my mission beyond the four walls of my clinic, expanding my reach to the masses and ensuring that Black mothers everywhere have the education, support, and resources they need to thrive.
One way I’ve done this is through the release of my book, The Mocha Maternity Survival Guide: Choosing the Right OBGYN. This guide is designed to help Black women confidently navigate one of the most important decisions in their pregnancy journey—choosing a provider who truly sees, hears, and advocates for them. Packed with expert insights, real-life stories, and practical steps, this book empowers mamas to take control of their prenatal care from the very beginning.
I’ve also built The Village at Melanin Maternity, a digital Black birth community where expectant and new moms can connect, learn, and grow together. It’s more than just a membership—it’s a movement. Inside The Village, we offer expert-led education, supportive sisterhood, and real-time guidance so that Black women no longer have to navigate pregnancy and postpartum alone. Because your 15-minute prenatal appointment is not enough—we are here to fill the gap.
And finally, I’ve been stepping onto more stages and speaking at events that matter—spreading awareness, sparking change, and equipping Black mamas with the knowledge and confidence they deserve. Whether in hospitals, conferences, or virtual platforms, I’m using my voice to rewrite the Black maternal health story.

What are you most excited about in the coming year?
This year, I’m most excited about Acceleration—stepping out on faith, moving in Holy Ghost boldness, and being unapologetic in my calling. This is the season of crazy faith and radical obedience, trusting that if it’s God’s will, it’s His bill. I’m shifting the weight of worry, fear, and anxiety off my shoulders and placing it in the hands of my Creator, knowing He has already made a way.
I’m walking fully into this ministry—boldly, fiercely, and without hesitation—claiming my corner of the kingdom for the glory of God. Wherever He sends me, I will go. Whoever has ears to hear, I will speak. Because I know that on the other side of my willingness to move, to share, to serve—somebody’s breakthrough is waiting. A mother is waiting to shift from surviving to thriving. A Black woman is waiting to be seen, heard, and empowered in her motherhood journey. And I’m honored to be the vessel God is using to make it happen.
This is the year of movement. This is the year of impact. And I am ready.
