Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Gebert
Hi Tyler, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I can remember wanting to help people as far back as being a little girl. I thrived when given the opportunity to show someone kindness, or to step in and help in any way. After graduation, my initial thought was to become a teacher. After my best friend’s cancer diagnosis, I realized my calling at that time was to help people by going to school to pursue nursing. I graduated nursing school and went right to work in a large level one trauma center in Dallas. I worked as an ER nurse proudly and it tugged on my heart strings greatly. After having kids, I realized I wanted to transition to helping people in another way. I had always had a fascination with the real estate market. I spent my spare time looking at homes for sale. I followed random realtors on social media to see what their posts were like. I decided to get my real estate license so that I could help people by providing my kindness, support, and expertise as their real estate agent. Today, I am thriving and loving every aspect of this challenge. I am given the opportunity to meet new people, build connections, and provide support and direction during their real estate transactions. It was always an honor to care for people in the hospital, and it is just as much of an honor to care for them now when buying or selling their home.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Man have I faced some challenges! Ha! I am one of those overthinker, harder on myself than anyone else kind of people. So for me, challenges are always being faced. From juggling being a mom to 4 kids- one special needs, to being the best realtor I can be, and a great wife, there is a struggle around the corner daily. Sometimes I got to bed feeling like I killed it, and other days I feel like I sucked. The lesson here is that I have to remind myself that I am always doing my best. I am always striving to be better and do better.
Speaking of family, my husband’s name is Clint and we have four kids. Clint is truly my greatest support and biggest fan. We have four children ranging in age from 6-12. Our middle son, Ty (7) has high-functioning autism. We are always working on ways to help him learn, grown, and become all he wants to and CAN be. I created a local group in our community called Rockwall AUsome Families. It is a space for families to share struggles, wins, gain insight, and even resources. We try to meet monthly and allow the parents and kids to come together and connect.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I believe I am known for my integrity, compassion, and genuine desire to do the right thing in situations. That is who I am at my core. So from bedside nursing to real estate transactions, I will always be true to those qualities.
What sets me apart from others? I think the answer lies in that I am not seeking financial wealth. Money will come. What I am seeking is partnership with people while they make big life decisions. I want to be there for them every step of the home buying/selling process. From the idea of buying a home, to getting pre-approved, to searching, inspecting, closing, and beyond. I want to be your realtor and friend for life.
Something my husband posted about me recently made me feel so seen. Like someone understands what I am doing this for. Read his post: “If you need a realtor, this girl is the BOMB! She will truly handle your listing with excellence and perfection from start to finish. You’ll feel as if you’re her only focus day in and out. She will go to bat for you every step of the way. At the end of it all, you will walk away with a new best friend. Tyler Gebert is awesome and a rare type of realtor. Having bought and sold a couple times, I can personally tell you a good realtor is worth their weight in gold! This one is the whole package. “
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Being raised by a mostly-gone single father, I found myself leading me and my sister through life largely alone. I was a caretaker at heart and that only strengthened as I got older. I had empathy and the desire to do what was right even as a very little girl. What I lacked then was the courage to be a leader. I had leadership in my mindset but feared acting on it. As I grew, I worked to foster the good traits within me to become someone who vocally stood their ground. Working in a very busy ER with nearly 100 beds, I had to toughen my skin. I won’t lie, a lot of tears were shed while growing into this thicker skin. But what happened was I evolved in a great way. I kept the good qualities that lied within and became the woman who was not afraid to lead with passion.
I’ll leave you with a fun fact about me. My husband and I got married on the top of a mountain at Yosemite National Park. Terrifying and amazing at the same time! There was a wildfire in the park that night, and our photographer was able to capture it in the background of a photo!
