Today we’d like to introduce you to Abid Naqvi.
Hi Abid, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
HNA Photography started out at a Korean BBQ Restaurant in Arlington. Nafim, Hanson, and I were speaking about our dreams of being entrepreneurs. Hanson and Nafim are talented photographers and I have a knack for business, so it was a perfect combination to start a photography company. Thus, HNA was born.
In reality, HNA started in high school. The three of us were on a school trip, where our friendship truly started. Hanson showed Nafim how to use a camera, Nafim fell in love with photography, and then years later the three of us created HNA.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Obviously, no new business is ever a smooth road. There are a lot of hurdles that you need to jump through, and no amount of preparation alleviates all problems. Sometimes the only thing that helps you get over bumps is just to experience the problem and learn from it.
To name a few, finding clients, scheduling while still working 9-5s, figuring out best practices for posting content, setting up financial accounts, keeping track of all the shots, and a bunch of other things that we’re still figuring out. It’s a learning process, and we’re continually improving our product.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
HNA Photography is a photography business that specializes in portraits/event shoots. Our photographers have a ton of experience and talent. With years of photography and videography under our belt, we guarantee a beautiful product to our customers.
At HNA, we stand by our work. We have never had an unhappy customer because we take pride in producing the absolute best experience.
The thing I love the most about HNA is how much we genuinely enjoy the work we do. Getting to meet people and capture beautiful moments for them is awesome work. It’s incredibly enjoyable, so it makes us want to keep doing more. We get to make people happy and show them how beautiful they are. What’s better than that?
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Dallas is awesome. It’s an incredible city to be a young professional in. The people are great; the atmosphere is fun, there’s always something to do.
The worst thing about Dallas is the drivers. No one knows how to drive here. It’s wild out there.
