Meet Abraham Mejorado of Dallas, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abraham Mejorado.

Hi Abraham, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
First thing I should say is that I love my journey as an actor and producer so far! At sixteen, I worked the front counter at a Sonic in my hometown of Palmer, Texas. At the time, I knew I wanted to either play football professionally or become an actor. I had no understanding of the film industry, so football felt like the more realistic path. One day, a woman and a man walked in. I said hello, and the woman immediately held up her phone, showed me a picture of a car, and asked if I knew where she could find one like it. Her name was Jenna Burris. She made movies, and she needed a car fast. Neither of us could’ve predicted that she’d be my first mentor in the film world, but at that moment I knew she was my first chance to step into the dream I’d always had.

After I graduated high school, Jenna took me under her wing. Through her guidance, I worked my way onto the sets of Queen of the South season three and The Chosen season one. From there, I continued on to Paul, The Last Apostle, which eventually led me to TBNR Productions, where I met my colleague and close friend, Omar Parker.

Omar and I shared the same drive and vision. Through him, I met Charles and Arianna Burt, and we all quickly became a small family. Together, after countless early mornings and pitch meetings, we secured our first feature film, The Prince, The Sister, and The Serpent, where I play the lead role of Cadmus. It would take far longer to explain every step that led me here, but looking back, there always seemed to be someone placed in my path to guide me forward. A true reminder to myself that no matter what you do, you can’t live your dream alone. It’s meant to be shared.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Hmm has my journey been smooth? That’s one way to put it (haha), but of course every story has it’s ups and downs. Compared to other people I would say my journey has been chock full of surprises. I believe God has always put someone there to help me along the way even when I didn’t see it, or deserve it in some cases. My dad once told me “Son, all you have to do is walk the path, and the people who are meant to help you will be waiting there to walk it with you.”. He’s wise like that (haha). I believe the biggest struggle that has followed me throughout my journey is one that I can’t escape. Myself. In the pursuit of any dream there will be moments of fear and doubt. It’s only through faith and family that I’ve taken all the risks I have. Some risks pay off greatly while others have led to my own detriment. Being the hero of your story isn’t always easy. A lot of the time you’re afraid, and unsure that you made the right choice, but that’s what makes a story great.

Another struggle would be that to everyone around you you’re crazy, or a failure until your dream works. A good friend of mine once told me “You’re the dumbest smart person I know.”. Another friend once told me “Abe grow up. It’s not gonna happen. Go get a real job.”. Now I’m able to point out that more often than not logical thinking doesn’t usually pay off in “once in a lifetime” ways. Sometimes you have to be a little crazy. Sometimes it’s hard to see the vision when nobody around you understands the picture you’re painting. However, at the risk of sounding cliché, if you believe in yourself the world is yours. Overcome your fear within your dream and within yourself, and you’ll be surprised what doors open to you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I can say happily that this past year I’ve been blessed to be able to produce, write, and act in my own projects within the film industry! If I had to guess I think I’m most known for being a fun vibe on set (haha). Yes I have a creative mind, and yes I have an experienced production mind as well, but more often than not people usually compliment the fact that I’m always able to make them smile. Their words not mine (haha)!

My close friend, Omar Parker, told me this when I was just starting out. “Abe it’s good that you’re fun. I can teach anyone anything they need to know, but I can’t make them fun.”. However, I do like to pride myself in the claim that I can bring the fun or the smile out of anyone. After all, we get to live a pretty cool life making movies and shows. Why not smile about it.

Although I have over 800 million views of social media content as a producer, and over 100k followers on Instagram I think I’m most proud of the upcoming films and productions that are on the horizon. I’ve been blessed with the opportunities to work with some of the best minds in the industry. Whenever we get into a flow the stories we can create are out of this world. I’m proud to not just call them colleagues, but friends as well.

What are your plans for the future?
My immediate plans revolve around continuing to develop and transform into the Greek mythological figure, Cadmus. I’m set to bring him to life in my first feature film, and first lead role in the summer of 2026. Since I first booked the role he has thoroughly succeeded in consuming my thoughts and actions. He certainly commands respect as his story is pretty awesome, so I’m taking ample time to allow my body and mind to get ready.

A lot of people from back home have asked me if I am scared. The honest truth is “no”. I think it’d be a big problem if I was (haha), but in all seriousness this is what I’m meant to do. What I was made for. The most exciting thing about it is that I’m able to step into the next version of myself not only as an actor, but as a person as well. To that I’m super thankful and blessed. I can’t wait to bring this great hero to life!
