Today we’d like to introduce you to Ace Lahli.
Hi Ace, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was in the financial industry during and after college for many years until I got burned out and tired of it. Two things I’ve always been passionate about is fashion and architecture. Not knowing much about real estate but having contacts in retail, I left the financial world and started working as a stylist at Nordstrom. During my tenure there, I met Mark Cain, who was a top producing agent at Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate in Dallas. After helping Mark out multiple times, I simply asked him “what do you do for a living?” and he informed me – real estate. I let him know I had always had a strong interest in real estate but didn’t have guidance on how to get into nor did I know the path to take. Mark gave me a couple of options to look into as far as getting my real estate license went and said that if I did the work and got my license, I would have a spot on his team. Fast forward six months, I informed Mark (on a Thursday afternoon, I’ll never forget) that I had passed the exam for my license, and his response – “Great. I’ll see you Monday. Be ready to work!” Here we are now almost six years later!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Real estate is more like a roller coaster than it is a road! This business constantly has its ups and down but with consistent hard work, it can be more up than it can be down. Starting off takes time, patience, and money that a lot of people don’t realize. You are essentially your own business and that can take some time to get off the ground and running. I didn’t have my first closing until almost four months into the business!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The majority of my business focuses in Dallas, mainly Preston Hollow, East Dallas, and the Uptown high-rise markets but that doesn’t mean I am limited to just those areas. I have sold many homes in Plano, Frisco, and Prosper. Really, wherever the client’s needs are is where I am! I’m the go-to agent on my team when it comes to the high rises such as the W, Azure, Bleu Ciel, Museum Tower, and others due to the amount of business I’ve done in those buildings. I would say one of the coolest accomplishments I’ve had is being in the 20 under 40 list for People Newspapers not too long ago.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Just because every interaction is an opportunity – if you or anyone you know is looking to buy or sell, I’m your guy! 🙂
