Meet Adam Rodgers of Chimney Guy Dallas DBA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Rodgers.

Adam, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I worked for another chimney company for seven years. Throughout that time I would always ask myself how I could provide better service, save the customer money and not let turning a profit become the only thing I care about. I would have to watch another company over charge customers just because they could and treat the customer like a number and not a person. I never felt like the owner cared about the customers and his only concern was only his bottom line. I just didn’t agree with that!!! I was raised to treat people how I wanted to be treated.

I pride myself on honest work for an honest price which is why I just decided to quit working for someone else and open up my own company. It was difficult at first because I decided to open a seasonal business that depends on winter and in Texas we didn’t have one for several years. My wife and I took all of our savings and bought a van, tools and I was on my way. I was knocking on residential and commercial doors. I was blessed after a TON of hard work and I will forever be great.

Over the years I have not only gained new customers but new relationships out of those customers. I feel like I’m doing something right when I receive a referral from a past customer. We stand out from the competition because we build lifelong partnerships with each of our clients.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was definitely not an easy road. It was really hard to have full-time work with a seasonal company in Texas. The first two years of business we had really mild winters and instead of a full schedule every day it was more of a job here and there. It was also difficult to get the new commercial business because they wanted a company that was well established where they could review their insurance history and things like that.

With having a new company even though I was fully insured and bonded it was hard to gain trust with new customers because I was so new. In the beginning, it was only me and it was a challenge to run the entire company alone. I was one person who had to work several jobs. I was the receptionist, the billing person, ordering and purchasing, the chimney technician and marketing person. Imagine having to juggle all of those jobs and not let things slip through the cracks. Although it did make me appreciate things and how hard it is to run a company.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Chimney Guy Dallas DBA – what should we know?
We are a full chimney service company. That includes servicing and repairing chimneys and fireplaces, we also install new fireplaces, gas logs, wood burning stoves, chimney sweeps and gas appliances. We also clean dryer vents which is a necessity. People don’t understand how easy a clogged dryer vent could start a house fire. I am most proud of the repeat business and referrals we receive from our loyal customers. When I started this company I had one goal and that was to provide honest work for an honest price.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My wife was a huge supporter, advocate and all of the above. She continued to believe in me, even when I doubted the business because of how hard it was it gain new business in the beginning.
