Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Saxton & Dan Murphy.
Hi Adam & Dan, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
We were casually considering houses when our real estate agent, Jonathan Rosen, called with a pocket listing in Highland Park. He talked about a nearly 100-year-old house with the potential to be restored and expanded; it sounded like a dream project. We were interested before even seeing the house based on the location alone. We knew we wanted to be in Highland Park because we love the sense of community and the trees, and if you want to be in HP, you can’t do much better than Beverly!
When we drove by and saw the classic 1920s facade we were in love and made an offer immediately. Soon after, we walked the property with our builder, Hudson Construction Group, and architect, William Briggs. Everyone agreed the home had enormous potential. We started The Beverly Casa Instagram because we want to show that these beautiful old homes can be updated for today’s style of living without losing their sense of character and history. We wanted to document the process from the beginning. It’s been exciting to find out people are interested in the process, and we are happy to have them following along!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We just started organically without any objective other than to share more about our house and learn about its history. It’s also been great to acquaint ourselves with our future neighbors! We had and have no expectations for creating an Instagram surrounding the remodel & restoration process other than to share something we are excited about. Since we are having fun and consider The Beverly Casa a hobby, there haven’t been any real challenges – we’re enjoying doing it!

The Beverly Casa is a hobby! These are our day jobs. Adam Saxton is the co-CEO and owner of The Saxton Group, one of the country’s largest restaurant franchisees. The Saxton Group owns and operates McAlister’s Deli locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Dan Murphy is a Managing Director, Corporate Advisory, at BMO Financial Group, the 8th largest bank in North America by assets. BMO provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management, and investment services to more than 12 million customers.
