Meet Aditri Teotia of Delhi, NCR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aditri Teotia.

Hi Aditri , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey hasn’t been very linear. I initially followed the traditional academic path and prepared for competitive exams, but when things didn’t work out the way I had planned for them to work our for me, I found myself questioning everything what success meant to me, and what I actually wanted to build for myself, not just for the society and validation but to find my inner peace.

What stayed constant through that phase, though, was that I didn’t let go of hope. I gave myself permission to explore instead of forcing myself back into something that didn’t feel right that was a tough decision, i doubted myself a lot but eventually followed my intuition. That’s when I started leaning more seriously into creativity especially digital art and storytelling, learning something from basics.

It began as something very personal, almost like a quiet escape, but over time it turned into something much more intentional. I realized I was naturally drawn to capturing emotions, subtle human experiences, and moments people often feel but don’t always express out loud, like love, fear, and raw real wonders.

Studying psychology alongside this gave me a deeper understanding of people, which started reflecting in my work. I wasn’t just creating for aesthetics anymore I wanted my work to feel honest, to resonate, and to make people feel seen.

Right now, I’m in a phase where I’m consciously choosing to build a life around what I love. I’m continuing to grow my work as an artist while also creating a small, cozy space for art lovers and collectors something that feels personal and comforting rather than transactional.

As a part of that, I’m launching my Art Mail Club this June, which is a way for people to receive thoughtful, curated pieces of my work and be a part of a more intimate creative community. It’s something I’ve been really excited about because it brings together art, storytelling, and a sense of connection in a very tangible way, its based on nature, nostalgia and the rawness of childhood, the way everything used to feel so wonderful and real.

I’m still figuring things out as I go, but I think that’s the most honest part of my journey choosing not to give up, and slowly building something that feels true to me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles has been dealing with uncertainty ,especially in the beginning, when I didn’t have a clear path and nothing felt stable or guaranteed.

Coming from a background where there’s often an expectation to follow more conventional careers, choosing something creative came with a lot of internal pressure. There were moments of self-doubt, comparison, and questioning whether I was making the “right” decision or just taking a risk without direction.

Another challenge has been building something from scratch. When you’re starting out, there’s very little validation low engagement, slow growth, unanswered messages i literally cold emailed 128 people, and it can feel discouraging if you let it define your worth. I’ve had to learn how to separate my work from immediate results and stay consistent even when things feel quiet.

There’s also the emotional side of creating. When your work is personal and rooted in observation and feeling, it can make you more vulnerable to criticism or even your own expectations but its very important that you keep creating, and keep pursuing your goal.

But over time, I’ve started to see these struggles differently. They’ve pushed me to become more resilient, more patient, and more intentional about what I’m building. I’ve learned that not having everything figured out doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path it just means you’re in the process of creating one that’s your own.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multimedia artist, storyteller, and social media strategist, and my work focuses on capturing emotion, identity, and everyday experiences in a way that feels personal and honest. While I primarily create digital portraits and visual pieces, I don’t limit myself to one medium, I enjoy exploring different forms of creative expression.

Alongside illustration, I have a working foundation in photography, video editing, and design. I’ve worked on visual themes for cafés, restaurants, and weddings, as well as banners, cards, and other curated design elements. For me, it all comes down to understanding a mood, a story, or an atmosphere, and translating it into something visual and cohesive.

I also work as a social media manager and strategist, where I focus on storytelling driven content and audience connection. Over time, I’ve been able to generate over 10 million views within a month while consistently growing my Instagram presence. That experience has shaped how I approach my own work as well I don’t just create art, I think about how it’s experienced, shared, and remembered.
(and to answer why am i into all of these things and not just one main job, is that i firmly believe in the saying we all have heard
jack of all trades master on none, but oftentimes better than the master of one. or you can say i love being a polymath . )

What I naturally gravitate toward is subtlety expressions, moods, and emotions that aren’t always loud but stay with you. A lot of my work is inspired by observing people, especially women and young individuals navigating identity, vulnerability, and growth. My background in psychology plays a big role in shaping this perspective.

I think what sets my work apart is that it isn’t just about creating something visually appealing it’s about creating something that feels familiar and emotionally resonant. I approach my work as something intimate rather than purely transactional.

Being a multimedia artist is also what keeps me going. It allows me to build something that’s both sustainable and creatively fulfilling I can explore different directions without feeling restricted or repetitive, which keeps the process exciting.

I’m also currently building a more personal extension of this through my Art Mail Club, launching this June a cozy, curated space for art lovers and collectors who connect with my work on a deeper level.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just a single piece it’s the fact that I’ve stayed consistent and continued to build, even without certainty. Choosing to create a path that aligns with what I genuinely enjoy, and shaping it into something meaningful, is something I truly value.
