Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Williams.
Adrian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born & raised into a family that loves to bake. Our family owned a bakery and because my father got sick, we had to close our doors. Years later & unhappy at my job, I wanted to honor my father and our family, so I started DUBalicious Cupcakes. This gives me a chance to do what my father wanted me to do. Enjoy doing something you love while setting an example for my nieces and nephews. Although, the patriarch of our family business isn’t with us anymore, his name, passion, and love live on.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Is this a trick question? Haha. Of course, it’s been somewhat of a struggle. Life always throws a few roadblocks in your way. Once you get over the thoughts of “Can I really do this?”, there’s always the desire to build your customer base. I guess wanting to “do better” is always a roadblock most business owners must constantly get over on a daily basis.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about DUBalicious Cupcakes – what should we know?
DUBalicious Cupcakes is a family business. We support and stand by each other at every turn. We’re most proud of our recipes. Our recipes were perfected over decades. Our recipes come from my mother and inspired and started in her grandmother’s kitchen. We’ve always made our recipes with real eggs, butter and sugar. I believe thats what sets us apart from everyone else. From our delicious cupcakes to our famous lemon bars, we take pride in making our customers happy.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family definitely deserves most of the credit. From staying up late at night to finish orders to simply providing prayers and support, I can always count on my family. I also want to thank my closest friends Sara Holmes, Katessa Burtch and Tonya Ingram for always giving me words of encouragement.
