Meet Adriana Navarro and Veronica Chavez of Pretty in the City in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Navarro and Veronica Chavez.

Adriana and Veronica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We are a female owned small business that was established in January 2017. Veronica and I had been childhood friends and that time had just graduated from Aveda esthetics program in Dallas together. We knew while in school lashes were in such high demand and that’s what we wanted to get into right after graduating. Soon we came up with Pretty in the City and were originally in a cozy glammed out suite. We didn’t realize how much business would boom and soon had to bring on two more ladies and opened up two more suites right next to ours. Business continued to grow so we made the decision to move into a storefront so we could all work together and later brought on two more talented ladies making us a team of 6!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth ride but we knew that was to be expected to start a business. We struggled a lot at the beginning with learning the financial side of starting a new business.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Pretty in the City started mainly as a lash studio. But since we have grown and brought on some of the most talented artists doing classic and volume lashes, waxing, microblading, and customized facials. Our two most popular services would be a lash extension and microblading/shading. We are most proud of how much our business has grown in a short amount of time!

One thing we believe that sets us apart from other beauty studios is the extra amount of care we put into giving the best experience for our customers. We don’t want them to ever feel rushed or unsatisfied with any service!

What was you like growing up?
I loved to be outside and do a lot of outdoor activities.
