Meet Adriane Grace of Law Office of Adriane S. Grace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriane Grace.

Hi Adriane, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started my own law practice 9 years ago in May of 2014, for one simple reason: I needed a work-from-home job! I had a toddler at the time who was constantly getting sick. We did not have family nearby to help with caregiving. Having my own law firm meant I could pick and choose the kinds of cases I took and the clients I helped while balancing my family responsibilities. Over time, I figured out what was ailing my daughter–severe allergies and asthma–and her health improved with the proper treatment. As I continued to practice law, I increased my skill set, specializing in estate planning, probate, and guardianship law. My practice grew with each passing year, and now I have several employees and an office in Frisco where I see clients Monday through Thursday (I still work from home at least one day a week).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a lawyer, mother, and business owner, balancing the needs of my growing business with my family’s needs has always been a struggle. There were times, like when my second child was born and when COVID-19 shelter-in-place happened, that I had to cut back my legal practice to focus on my family. And there have been other times where I had to focus on the growth of the business and was not as available for my kids. I do believe we live in an environment where “we can have everything we want in life,” but just not “all at the same time.”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At our law firm, we love helping our clients create meaningful legacies with confidence and Grace. Our practice areas include estate planning, probate, guardianship, and disability law. We believe that legacy planning is so much more than just drafting legal documents and making court appearances. We know that listening to a client’s story is key to creating a legal plan of action unique to their goals. And we also know that when a client feels heard, they gain the confidence to overcome hardship and make a plan for their life’s legacy.

When we become resilient, the future feels more certain, and our plans achievable.

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
As a legal advocate, I take risks on a daily basis for my clients. They come to me with problems they cannot solve on their own, and it’s then my responsibility to create a solution that meets their goals. Some solutions involve going to court and trying to convince a decision-maker or another party that the solution we came up with is good or “worthy.” Other solutions involve plans that won’t be carried out for years to come. And that’s a big risk to take if it does not go in my client’s favor! Thankfully, I have many years of experience to guide me in this “risk-taking,” and I can confidently advise my clients of the risks involved with every legal solution. That way, I am not the only one taking the “risk,” and generally, the outcome is good because my client is much better off than they were before they consulted with me. They come away either educated about their options and the best path forward or with a solution-in-hand to the problem they could not solve on their own!
