Thanks for sharing your story with us Alek. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been curious about hair. In early high school I used to blow dry mine with a hat on so it would flip. My dad hated cutting mine and all my brothers’ hair every ten weeks. Almost everyone has it. Everyone’s is different – making it extremely challenging. That exactly, is what I love most about it.
In 2018 I enrolled in Cosmetology school ready to become a part of the hair world. After becoming licensed I started my assistance program at Lost Hairdressers. I felt like this was an important move in my career because it gives me a unique opportunity. I’m able to begin to master my craft in a creative space surrounded by talent and culture.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This definitely has not been a smooth road. I’ve struggled emotionally, physically, and financially. It’s weird to start over from scratch. I’ve run businesses before. I’ve made great money. But to start completely over in a totally new space is a major challenge words cannot describe. It’s almost like learning a new language. Luckily, I fall in love with the craft every time someone sits in my chair.

I specialize in custom hair design. My services include cutting, coloring and extensions – for now. This isn’t your typical hair service. This is a high quality experience where I plan and execute a custom service to fit your ideas-headshape-hair type-personality-and lifestyle. I feel I can be set apart from the crowd because I always go above and beyond for my people. That extra razzle dazzle can mean the world to someone.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. Everything happens for a reason. Everything that has happened and will happen on my hair journey makes me who I am. A unique stylist with my own style and grace. I guess if I had to do something differently, I would have started sooner.
